You're better than this.

OG for #23 + Little? Who says no?

Blazers get a defensive stopper.

Raptors get younger. Get a draft pick in a deep draft and a young wing.

LOL...you should take that to the Raptors forum. If you do, let me know in advance

Lol yup that's about as bad as 3 for og is for us

Charlotte's draft to lose.
Portland's off-season trade market to lose.
Because love can burn like a cigarette.

I always wonder how many people in organizations make bets themselves on this type of stuff or through family members. It's such free, easy money for them.

I wonder if New Orleans has pivoted to discussing a deal with Charlotte? Maybe they're moving on with their stance with Ingram because they love Scoot that much? Potentially that's what Vegas insiders are hearing.

Yeah, I wonder that too. You also look at guys like Woj who when they say something, even if it's not ultimately accurate, but whatever they say moves the markets soooo much. Is his extended family maybe not putting some money down?

I wouldn't put it on extended family of reporters. I'd put it on extended family on organizations, which are the only real true source. Like how Donaghy did through friends (really good documentary, by the way).

How much of this is dumb money reacting to Shams' rumor tweet that Scoot was still in the running for #2? I'm sure there's lots of random play going around based on whatever the latest rumor is, even if no insiders are playing the game.

then again, insiders could be playing the game and feeding those rumors to Shams so they can get better odds on Scoot going #3

Shams tweet came after the betting markets started shifting.

Great idea, I actually did it.

I've never believed Scoot would drop to 3 and still don't. If I'm wrong, good for the Blazers.

It honestly feels like Charlotte is getting jedi-mindtricked here. They wanted Miller from the start. He's a 6'7" small forward who can shoot. What they don't need is a 6'2" point guard who can't shoot. But what is happening is EVERYONE is talking about Scoot and not Miller and I think they're questioning themselves and are going to pick Scoot. Which is fine with me as Miller fits with the team better. I feel like we are more likely to keep Dame AND the pick if the pick is Miller. (though am aware that's not a certainty and we could wind up trading the pick anyway and get less value, or trade Dame anyway and not have a pg)

The same thing happened in 98 when the Clippers were LOCKED IN on Mike Bibby the whole off season, but everyone kept talking up Michael Olowakandi and the Clippers wound up taking him instead.

I'm obviously completely full of ..it

but here's a theory:

it's a case of the tail wagging the dog:

Charlotte has brand new majority owners but Jordan is in charge of the draft. But you know he has people looking over his shoulders. There is uncertainty in Charlotte...lots of it

---> so they pretty much settled on Miller and that gets out into the cyber-ether. Whew...glad that's settled says the Hornet brain trust

---> shortly after that, it becomes 'apparent' that Portland is almost ecstatic to be getting Scoot---> and it turns out that Dame & Scoot have been talking for weeks---> so yeah, Portland is snickering about getting the 2nd best player in the draft

---> Charlotte sees all that and because of uncertainty and division, they re-visit their decision..."did you see how happy the Blazers are to be getting Scoot; are we screwing up?"

---> so being wishy-washy and easily manipulated, Charlotte decides that Portland has done a better job of evaluation then they have. So they decide on Scoot

---> which was the point of the Portland leaks yesterday because they really prefer Miller over Scoot

tail wagging the dog...Blazers playing 4-D chess...and yes, it's all drivel

Yeah, it's pretty unbelievable that at least from an outsider's perspective, it certainly seems like Miller is the guy who the Blazers have wanted/needed since day one but they weren't going to get him, and now the Hornetts may be about to hand him over to us.

I mean, again, there is no way to know what's really happening until the pick is made, and even after that, but it sure SEEMS like if we got Scoot, we'd have to trade Dame or Scoot and if we get Miller we MIGHT be able to talk Dame into it.

Scoot and Ball can work. Scoot brings tremendous character which is much needed on a team w/ Ball (Knucklehead), Miles (Wife beater) and if you draft Miller (#1 in gun assist) your the new Jailblazers (But worse).

Scoot has always made more sense. He is a better player on the court, better guy off the court, more likely to be a positive 'face of the franchise' type.

Its sucks for us, but it is what it is. I still hope they lolcat and take Miller.
