How much better is chandler than dorrel wright? When he was brought here, everybody was saying he'd be a great addition - backup SF and stretch four. Sounds like what chandler is going to do.

Afflalo IMO is way better than Barton, CJ and Crabbe (maybe even combined!).

I think the Blazers have got to consider offers for Batum. I know, heracy. But if they want to keep Matthews, I think they have to consider thenter future cap implications. If they can trade Batum and 2-3 filler for 2-3 solid players, it might be a net gain.

I completely agree. Mathews is more pivotal to this team than Mathews. However, in reality we would either have to take back a pretty darn good player to not have a decline of production, and then fillers to match salaries...then we would still be at the same spot financially.

OR take a not as good piece and picks, which goes against our win now mentality.

Also, selling low (which is what we would be doing) on a 26 year old who had been fantastic (imo) in last few years, is usually always a bad move.

very weird tweet from Woj

Denver sifting offers on Arron Afflalo tonight, w/ some "late-chargers" thickening plot, sources tell Yahoo. Blazers still strongly in mix.

I have to think with the cap increases coming in soon Paul Allen will at least consider taking the hit if the main piece (resigning la) falls into place

I have actually lurked on here longer than that, I lost the password to an older account and had to make this one. This is my go to place leading up to the trade deadline and draft day.

For some reason, it seems like Denver is more willing to trade Afflalo than Chandler. I thought I saw somewhere that someone in the front office really liked Chandler and wanted to keep him. Whatever the case, they seem much more ready to trade AAA than Chandler and even thought he is the better player, I'm not sure he is the better fit here.

There is still time left before the deadline to see what happens, but I don't understand why Denver doesn't just blow it up and start over. They aren't in a position to win and they have some moveable assets that have value now. You most likely aren't going to be able to get more for Wilson Chandler than you would now.

who knows

it could be the Denver FO trying a last minute tactic to squeeze a little more out of Portland. Woj is not so perfect that he & his credibility can't used by GM's and agents

I'd also guess that the 11th hour Dragic mess is reverberating around the landscape of teams looking for upgrades. Maybe some team getting beat on their Dragic offer is pivoting to Afflalo

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Chandler would be a great fit here. Afflalo not bad either. Hope Olshey can finally pull the switch.

Id' be more inclined to let that other team have him if they are trying to squeeze more from
Portland. In the end, we're likely going to go as far as LA and Dame take us for Chandler at
least fills a need with Batum hurting. I wonder what Affalo's agent is saying to NBA teams
that are thinking about trading for him?

Chandler? Great..
Afflalo & Prince? Great too.

Seems like we have the opportunity to bolster our bench, lets hope N.O. capitalizes!

With an upgraded bench and a healthy roster, this team would have all of the tools to make a postseason run. C'mon F.O.!

I like the idea of Chandler, or Afflalo. I'll take whichever comes cheaper. I'm not worried about being undersized at the 3 at all with Matthews and Afflalo out there together come playoff time.

I would also chase Dragic if we could get him for a decent price. I think he would be a fantastic fit next to Lillard.

I have a feeling (and it's only a hunch) the Blazers are going to simply end up with Prince when the smoke clears. It just screams an Olshey kind of move to me...

Now, is Afflalo or Chandler (or in my perfect world, both) a more dynamic "win now" option for this team? Most likely, yes. Is Prince a better option than Wright as a backup SF? Most likely, yes.

Not as sexy, but an upgrade...

I still think that even if it costs CJ and Leonard to get a rental of Afflalo and Chandler, Olshey should pull the trigger. The positive fallout from going deep into the playoffs could be a boon for a small market team. Even if this is the basic 10 man rotation:

Lillard/Blake
Wes/Afflalo
Batum/Chandler
Aldridge/Freeland
Lopez/Kaman

I believe that 10 could beat anybody in the west and contend for a championship.

I think it's stronger than:
Lillard/Blake
Wes/CJ
Batum/Prince
Aldridge/Leonard
Lopez/Kaman

So we give up Leonard - fillers and 1st (most vital piece to the trade) for afflalo & chandler, and Afflalo walks this offseason..you are okay with that?

So essentially, Leonard, TRob, Wright, Barton + 1st for Chandler
