FYI I'm not hearing anything yet. Last year I had the CJ trade weeks before the deadline..this year crickets. In all fairness I no longer play hoops with a NW division front office executive...but we still talk and I'm not getting a word.

I would ask about Nurk, but i didn't realize he was making that much money. We need another perimeter defender and a back up C badly, as you may have noticed after last night's beating we sustained at the hands of Boston.

We need size.

But in an ideal world we trade Simons for a young big, so. I don't know.

With the Blazers luxury tax situation I have a feeling they won't make any moves, if anything happens we won't be taking on more salary it will be a move that either has 0 impact on salary or loses some.

It would be one thing if this team was looking very very good, they might make some win now move to try to win it all this year but that is not happening.

Vanderbilt for Little works and keeps us under the tax threshold. So does Vanderbuilt for Winslow. We might have to throw in a top 55 protected 2nd round pick, or maybe cash considerations to sweeten the deal, but it would let us add some depth up front while staying under the threshold.

I am very much down for Vanderbilt to Portland, he is a good rebounder and is in that Hart/GP2 type player that hustles and I think we need an over abundance of that type player to make up for our other short comings.

Vandy is nice. Wish he was more like 6'10 230 so we could slide him at C - he has the skillset of a really nice starting C but just is to small. His size makes him a 4 IMO.

Vandy for Nas makes sense for both sides IMO. UTA has the 4 and 5 locked down for years w/ Lauri and Kessler. They lack a youngster at the 3 and Nas still has some nice raw talent. Vandy likely isnt there in the long term b/c he will get priced out, dont think a quasi-rebuilding team would pay what he demands. Nas on the other hadn at 7M AV is cheap for a while and worth a swing.

Latest chatter from Brian Windhorst is POR is in "buying" mode with one possible target is OG Anunoby. He speculates that any offer from Portland for OG would start with Shaedon Sharpe?

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/270253/Blazers-Absolutely-In-Buying-Mode-Ahead-Of-Trade-Deadline

So, what say you? Would you include Sharpe as part of a package that landed OG Anunoby?

I'd only do it if it was part of a larger package that also landed us Siakim.

I was big on Hart last season, but am not not sure he is better than Eubanks. I think our backup C spot is fine, what we need is a better starter.

Also, I get moving Hart to avoid losing him in FA (Assuming we pay Grant), but Cam is also a FA and his size / fluidity / age may lead a team to overpay. So its possible, if not probably (Given we are likely to make Grant an albatross) that we are simply swapping EC Hart for EC Cam.

Would do the 2nd trade for sure, think UTA might look for better (Keon sorta falls in a grab bag of meh guard prospects w/ NAW, Ochai, etc).

Hartenstein has the worst fg% at the rim in the league for a center… Doubling down on centers that can’t make layups is the worst thing we could possibly do. I’ve seen you mention this trade several times so I thought you should know we’d have the 2 worst centers in the league when it came to finishing around the basket with Nurkic second to last in fg% at the rim.

Simons, Sharpe and Grant 2 firsts and a swap for OG and Siakam?

Nas for Vando

Nurkic plus 2 firsts for Turner

Dame/Payton
Hart/Keon
OG/Winslow
Siakam/Vando
Turner/Eubanks

We’d need to add shooting and scoring off the bench somehow but that’s a top 5 defense and probably a contender right? I think that’s worth giving up 5 firsts and Sharpe, plus going into the tax. We have to put their best team around Dame since we’re not trading him.

I'm buying the Hartenstein from.last season not the miscast version on the Knicks. Chauncey knows who this guy is and he's an elite passer/screen setter for a five. He's switchable and has better size than everyone buy Nurkic...although he drastically more athletic and plays with real energy. He's regressed in NY but I think that's a Thibs thing and he would be one of the best reserve 5s in the league.
PS I'm hearing Portland is sniffing around Advija... not sure what the cost would be but I would LOVE this guy in the red and black.

That’s a risk I would not want to take... I don’t see how a coach has anything to do with the ability of a player to finish a lay up? What was his FG% at the rim in previous seasons?

Kylie wants out, which means KD is probably next.

Screw OG, Let’s go all in on KD. People on here were hating on the idea before the season but he’s having his m,ost efficient season ever at 34. It’s championship or bust, let’s go.

I came here for this. KD is the type of guy we can unprotect picks and give Sharpe up for.

I think they'd trade KD to Phoenix before us.

But I'd love to sniff around to see if we can get Simmons for a fair deal.
