Interesting Chad Ford is reporting Steven Adams might make the late lottery
with a possibility of getting as high as nine. He is by no means ready to play
next season and like Meyers is a 2-3 year project.

I could understand picking Adams if Portland deals Meyers to the Suns for Gortat.

Yuck.. I like Gortat but not if Meyers is included. That's essentially 2 lotto picks for him. A big reason I'd want him is so Meyers could learn behind him for a couple years and give us a solid 2 centers for the future.

As far as simply picking rather than figuring out if they should trade down, up, or out of the draft, I've kind of jumped onto the Steven Adams bandwagon. But that leaves an issue with having him and Leonard. But as far as who I like that might be there at #10, I like Adams. Of course the fickleness of drafts means I'll probably change my mind again as the workouts progress and we hear more info and stories.

I also think Reggie Bullock makes some sense depending on where, and how the Blazers could nab him. Certainly not at #10 though. I watched all the combine telecasts and I thought Bullock had that little something that for me anyways, stood out from the rest of the pack. Maybe it was his semi Mowhawk haircut :D , but I think it was his shooting touch. He looked confident with his whole posture when taking shots. And we know the Blazers could use a shooter that can play both shooting guard and small forward, which I think Bullock can.

In seeing the way he played at the combine, plus the manner in which he conducted himself in interviews, Adams seemed like a blue collar, hard worker type that didn't try to pump his own tires like some of the prospects did. I think he could end up the type that is hard-nosed and might get by physically as he learns, kind of like Enes Kanter, or dare I say Andre Drummond although Drummond is a notch up physically from Adams. I was pleased that Adams measured out well and was 255lbs. and didn't look like there was any bulk to him. He also had the biggest hands, which might mean absolutely nothing or mean he is going to fill out into a very big and strong man by his mid twenties.

Anyways, at this time those are two that I like although I certainly can't dismiss that Shabazz may be there at #10 and any team would have to make a tough decision around that spot if he was, and of course I would be happy to see the rumour of Olshey attempting to move up to draft Olidapo come true, who I believe would give Portland a very dynamic albeit young backcourt for many years.

It's a ways away yet though and as they say, expect things to be fluid as the draft gets closer. Things will change and different names will emerge into the top ten from the ones now being talked about.

Yeah, it's interesting seeing how far he's fallen on a lot of mock drafts. Draftexpress is the only that still has him at #10. Chad Ford's lottery generator thing generally has him going around 13 or 14. I haven't seen him go in the Top 10 of his mocks. He's going to have to make up a lot of ground in the private workouts to get his trade stock back up.

That site is a joke. What has Saric done to get such a high pick? The Russian will go before he does. Also Cody Zeller goes really high up just because we found out he jumps really high and runs really fast? Like Givony's tweet said, you would know that if you watched some of his games. smh DX is wayy better.

It is early. All of these Mock Draft sites change up order just to keep people coming back and talking about it. When it is draft day, DraftNet has a very good track record for what teams actually pick. Don't worry to much about what they show 8 weeks out.

@WindhorstESPN With cap space, 2 first round picks & interest in improving fast, the Cavs will investigate trade options with No. 1 pick

I wonder if CLE is going to wind up offering a #1 + Waiters for LMA. (In no way am i endorsing this, just wondering)

No, they will offer #1 + Thompson.

I'd be down for a trade like that. We'd have a lot of cap and could sign Millsap to fill in and be better off IMO

According the ESPN, the Mavs want to trade #13

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Hearing from multiple sources that Mavs likely to trade the No. 13 pick. Want to save cap space for Dwight Howard run ...

I don't think Cuban really cares about cash, but maybe he would like some of the Blazers 2nd round picks for it. It seems like this draft is weak at the top, but has a lot of depth.

Dallas maybe trade the pick, but they'll only do that when they know they have either Howard or Paul.

It's just idiotic to think they'll give the pick away now, you can always do that in the open market, draft somebody and if you get Howard, give the pick.

They're not doing that before the draft LOL, Ford is stupid.

And this draft have like 0 depth, I don't see more than 15 NBA players 3-5 years from now, it'll be similar to 2006.

Very possible. But if they want POR to consider it i would think they need to put waiters in there.

I highly doubt CLE would do #1 + Waiters or Tristan for Aldridge. Would that even be possible salary-wise? I'd do either in a heartbeat though...

They have $27mil guaranteed.... $31mil in cap space if they wanted.

I would think they would definitely do Thompson + #1 for LMA. I dont think i would do it though. Waiters though?? thats very tempting, but they very well could laugh at that.

We might as well include Wes in a deal that nets us Waiters. That might help make it a little more even.

Matthews would kill the deal for them seeing as how they want to maintain enough cap-space to attract a max FA next summer (Lebron)
