Also Cronin: gets younger and smaller.

Yep. It's incredible he would do that since the season starts tomorrow and no other moves are happening. Conin is such an idiot!

And we couldn't have traded for KP because we didn't have the contracts. It would have had to be Nurk plus Simons and both those guys have 3 more years on their deals and Washington didn't want that much salary. They'd have been ok with Simons probably, but not Nurk.

KP does not make us a winner either, that would have been a bad move IMHO.

KP would have been a massive massive improvement over Nurkic.

Agreed, his 60 games would surely be higher quality than Nurkic's 50.

does anybody actually believe anything Shams says?

he's the guy that came out so forcefully and said that Portland forced Payton into Toradol injections in his abdomen. When it came out that was completely false, Shams never printed a retraction. Screw that guy

And that’s the point of having an NBA team?

I don’t see how we build a contender with Ant Nurk and Grant sign and trade as chips

I guess Dame asks for a trade before training camp

I just want to say before people get anxious that I think the recent Haynes comments on twitter about Dame not having recent conversations with the team about the draft or free agency is not related to Cronin's press conference (since it happened right before it), but rather is a response to Sham's tweet about the timeline he said Dame suggested/DAme's people suggested he'll give the team.

I like Grant and would like to keep him. But we have to play some hardball here. The days of blindly giving these non all star players all star money needs to come to an end. Don't give him a massive contract he isn't worth with the new cba. We'll probably have to use assets to dump him later. Try very hard to negotiate a fair deal and if you can't get that then try to work a sign and trade or let him walk. He's not going to be the difference maker for us this year, especially if we let Dame go. What are we signing him for in that case?

Really everything comes back to Dame. We need to make a decision there and come to an agreement before we start tying ourselves to these long term contracts for guys like Grant.

I think Lonzo's career is over. Why would you want to trade for him?

Blazers need size and versatile bigs. I was hoping Blazers could had picked up both KP and KAT to pair with Dame-Sharpe. Could you still trade Scoot-salary filler for KAT? Scoot and Edwards could be tempting for Minny. KAT could be the first truly talented player to play with Dame. Could Grant (S&T) along with Nurk or Ant bring back an upgrade at 3 or 4? Just some thoughts.

God that quote is so empty, trite and meaningless - its the perfect thing for a twitter journalist to say because they cant be wrong.

"between now and free agency Dame has to make a decision on whether to ask to be traded. But he also has between free agency and training camp to make a decision on whether to ask to be traded. He also has a decision to make on whether he is going to ask for a trade between training camp and the trade deadline. BUT HE ABSOLUTELY CANNOT REQUEST A TRADE AFTER THE TRADE DEADLINE. At least not until the next off-season, then he will have a decision to make on whether he is going to ask for a trade..."

This ×100. With the rookie contracts of the Super Slam Bros having a 6th man who can put up 21+ppg is huge. Ant is more than capable of being the perfect microwave.

I hadn't considered Grant s&t for Williams I actually like that. I think it's time to rebuild. I will likely be sad about that until I see Dame in the finals.

Because we’d have to take back matching salary, part of why Chicago would do it is to get off Lonzo’s contract this season, and his contract is either going to come off the books due to a medical exception or it’s going to expire in one more season anyway.

If we’re rebuilding Lonzo’s contract doesn’t really hurt us

That would be ideal, but it seems way more likely that we'd just keep starting Ant at 2 with Scoot at 1 and Sharpe at 3.

Considering our current SF rotation is Little and Rupert that’s a possibility…

I would take on Ball to get Pat Williams in a Grant S&T. Non zero chance you can get him to medically retire IMO.

Your not getting a prospect like Williams in a Grant S&T unless your taking on some really worthless money - and Ball is about as high on that list as it gets.

Its going to take both Sharpe/Scoot time to ramp up to the NBA. Sharpe for one has to prove he can produce
when the games really count and he will have to adjust to how teams are playing him in 23-24.

I do think Scoot would start on day 1 with Ant at the 2 and Sharpe starting off as the 3rd guard.
