I think it's a no brainer to trade Grant for 13.

If We don't get Edey I hope SA gets him because that would be the most unique 4/5 in history.

I suppose. Not the swing I want, but I guess if you're just going for a solid base hit... Knecht is fine. Would rather bigger swings, Simmons has him as a possible ROY candidate, so something I guess.

In this draft, that is so flat, get the best roll players possible. I have a hard time justifying swinging for the fences. Sometimes it’s better to just get on base.

Knecht and Edey, please.

Getting Edey would help my kinda bleh-ness of drafting Knecht.

I'd genuinely be kind of surprised if Edey lasts til 14 tho.

Probably the best youtube scout since Mike Schmitz.

If we came out of this with Edey, Matas/Knecht, and Dunn I will be so stoked. I want Djuric as well, he seems like the next sleeper euro that could be a triple double guy. Dillion Jones would be a win too.

I don't mind a swing, there isn't much risk to it in our position

Clingan sure seeming more and more likely that he's not making it to 7. Anyone who doesn't want him should feel good right now.

Don't play with my emotions.

I'm much more worried about SA, Memphis, or OKC taking him before 14. I really think he could go to SA and be a new twin tower with Wemby. OKC seems like no brainer since they need a center and they're so stacked it's no low risk high reward.

Listening to the live sports shows right now, there's a lot of buzz that Clingan won't make it past Detroit at 5, either he goes there or Detroit trading down and someone taking him at 5 with Detroit taking Dillingham.

Marang also just said live that he just got a text from "someone very plugged in" that the Blazers are taking Cody Williams at 7.

Cody seems like the prototypical guy Schmitz likes, that seems like reasonable bet. I hate it. You can find a million guys like Williams, there's never been a guy like Edey, maybe Mark Eaton? Don't be shocked if SA sets up their next decade of championship runs with Wemby at the 4 and Edey at the 5.

Like if you believe that Wemby is the next GOAT candidate, which is very likely, you need Edey if you want to even a chance to match up with him. SA getting both would be bonkers, and if they get Sheppard or Dillingham at PG, they'll be a problem for years.

I find Danny Marang insufferable to a point and I also don't want Cody Williams at seven, so I'm doubly hoping it isn't the case.

Agreed re Marang, but unfortunately he is connected. Also very meh on Williams too. As the draft is getting closer, Salaun is the guy I want there. Seeming less and less likely the Blazers want him (or that he's gonna be there, one or the other)

If we can't get Salaun, I'd like us to be able to get Dodiet by trading up with the second round picks if possible. For me I see Cody Williams as best another Grant. And Grant is good.. as a third or fourth piece. I want a forward that can actually rebound as well as shoot, you know. Not just.. one of the two.

Maybe they think Edey will be there at 14 and can end up with both Edey and Williams?

But yeah, Williams fits the mold of what I think they want. Lanky skinny forward who can kind of do it all. Good measurements... who knows if he can put it together. Maybe hoping to have a really fast athletic 1-3 with Scoot, Shae and Cody?

It's fine, I guess. Not really gonna kill the Blazers with whoever they draft tonight, just too much of a crapshoot (or as it was said live on the air of 1080 today... aaaaaa "craps**t")

Honest question here - how much game film have you watched of him? Not talking cut-up highlights, but actual game film?

I get the appeal with his body type, but I don't think he'll ever be a starter quality NBA player.

Yeah, I really want the Blazers to get more physical players out of this draft. Not more finesse guys. I'm so tired of those kinds of players.

You can make this exact claim for almost every player in this draft.

I have watched game film of Saluan. My main concern with Saluan is his hips being so very high and he does seem to take chances on defense that might not work out in hte NBA. But his shot looks good to me in the mechanics, it just looks off I think on first glance because of his body type.

I know BlazersBronco I think has brought up concerns about Saluan's lack of blocks, but I believe I read Saluan grew in a short period of time abruptly and it might be he just isn't use to his body type.

I fully admit Saluan could be a super bust. But I also think if he hits, he's going to hit high. And I want an athletic, powerful forward who can shoot to pair with Scoot and Shaedon to match their speed.

I wouldnt be surpsised if Diadet was better than both Salaun and Cody.

Cody has alot of Sharpe to his game in terms of running hot and cold. There are entire games where you could come away and say 'wait, Cody Williams was playing?'. He just coasts far too much for my liking. The talent is there, he is a prototypical sized SF with excellent length and enough athletic juice. But for all his gifts you would expect more.

I wouldnt hate Cody at 7, I like him more than Salaun and Holland, but I think he is the type that would do best on a team with more established talent - or a team that already has a franchise cornerstone (Like SAS).

Everything about Marang i find extremely triggering. Can you even imagine trying to have a respectful conversation with him about basketball?
