Oh No - Landslide from Lebron decision

Post#1 » by Jsun947 » Fri Jul 11, 2014 4:48 pm

Now that he's officially going home, everything will fall into place

Bosh will sign in Houston & Match parsons
Melo will probably look much harder at Chicago
And I'd be willing to bet Love gets traded in a deal revolving around Bennett & Wiggins, both of who were not mentioned in Lebron's letter. It's reported Love agreed he would sign an extension if Lebron is there

Houston will be the best team in the West, Cleveland and Chicago will be title contenders. The clippers, NO are better teams now too.

The west & the league will be much more top heavy.

Cleveland has Miami's 1st round pick next year. That could really be worth something now.

If Houston is able to have a line-up of Howard, Bosh, Parsons, Harden and Beverly, good luck beating them when you trailed the last series 70% of the time.

It still looks like...

Spurs
Thunder
Clippers
Rockets
Blazers
Grizzlies
Warriors
Mavs

....in the West. And don't bet that Memphis won't be higher than that if healthy. They were extremely tough when they had both Gasol and Z-Bo at the same time with Conley.

I love how you all are jumping on houston now. You do realize they have to trade jones and DoMo along with lin and asik to sign bosh to a max.

Also that would leave them with little money to go at those roleplayers that miami showed you need to win, but yeah of course if we trailed them in that series 70% of the time, it was because they needed more offenssive fire power. They don't need better D and late game execution.

Asik has already been traded and they reportedly have a taker for LIn.

So let me get this straight... they're now locked into a SF that isn't as good as our SF for Kyrie Irving money, and a starting PF that can't guard LMA and isn't as good as him that they have to play for at least 35 minutes a game, all while trading away whatever depth they might have had to guard our stars?

Yeah, I'm not panicking. Houston got more talented, but they are less capable of giving us problems now.

Playoffs:..Pts...Rebs..Assts...FG%...3Pt%
Batum.....15.2...7.6...4.8.. .472.. .350
Parson....19.3...6.8...2.3... .438.. .361

I'm guessing 'better' depends on who you ask. They seem pretty close when it counts.

I may be wrong.. But I believe that agreement was just a verbal one (likely contingent upon Bron). He may still end up there but that's how I understood it..

I also heard that some guy one Minnesota radio said that a deal for Love to Cleveland is already done and will be announced either today or tomorrow.. I'm assuming it's for Wiggins.

Well that is just silly, why trade wiggins when you can sign love out right next year? It is not like the love addition is gonna get them to beat the pacers or spurs. They sucked for this long for a reason. Also have to make salary work for love so what little talent they have they would have to trade to make room for love.

There is no guarantee you could sign him outright. He might get traded elsewhere , like GS and sign an extension.

I doubt Carmelo leaves New York. he's loyal... to the money.

because of the salary cap. Love isn't moving to Cleveland for the MLE when the Lakers can probably offer max/near max money.

Crazy idea, but would anyone sidestep Minny and trade LMA for Wiggins and picks (miami's would be nice)? I would look real hard at that.

We saw the last few seasons how cap space doesn't really matter unless we're making trades. Stars won't sign with us, and the only way to really get a superstar is through the draft.

A core of Lillard and Wiggins along with another lotto pick would give us a lot more flexibility. We're not going to get that third star any other way and I'll never be convinced that LMA is a first option. A great second option no doubt, and a fantastic player, but I don't think we'll win a ring with him IMO. Maybe if we had actually accumulated tradeable assets over the last fews years, we could put the right role players in place to contend, but right now it's looking tough. Everything is depending on 2015, but IDK why that year would be any different than the last 3 offseasons.

I think it's a mistake to underestimate the Rockets with Bosh. When Miami put together their big 3 there were a ton of people talking about how there was only one basketball, how Lebron had never won a title before, how Bosh was just a stat stuffer etc. 4 trips to the Finals later and I'd say that those concerns were put to rest. You put 3 star players on a team like that and they'll be dangerous. Also don't underestimate the fact that Bosh has already seen the ups and downs first hand. He'll be a voice in the locker room that can speak from experience when there are problems.

The Rockets with Bosh aren't a joke. Portland has their work cut out for them. This feels like a year in which we fiddle with the lint in our belly button while everyone else gets better.

I have never been on the "let's trade LaMarcus" band wagon. But with Houston landing Bosh I would see if we can get Wiggins and Bennett for LMA and build around a core of Lillard, Wiggins, Batum.
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Bosh is staying in Miami

David Aldridge
Chris Bosh has told the Rockets he plans to return to Miami. Huge retention for the Heat. @WojYahooNBA first to report deal was close.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Chris Bosh is finalizing an agreement to return to Miami on a five-year, $118M deal, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
