I thought he was a non-factor last night. He's still so slim. One play in particular last night where Kanter simply moved him out of the way right at the basket. The starters that were with the Blazers last year showed him some love before the game though. That was nice to see.

Yeah. I wouldn't put too much faith into putting up stats on a bad team. I honestly hadn't heard of half of the Thunder's roster before the game yesterday. Just nice to see former Blazers do well.

My kid Poku is starting to show why he is special. Wish we stuck at 16 and took him, using other picks to get RoCo (If that even would have been possible)

He played 31 minutes and contributed to our 47 point win.

Was watching the last part of the Nuggets/Warriors game last night. I knew immediately when Murray went down that he was done for the season. You don't react that way for a minor problem. Nurkic didn't even act that bad when he broke his leg. Too bad for the Nuggets, they were starting to look good.

The Blazers are in a 3 way tie right now for 5th place with the Mavs and the Lakers. The Blazers beat the Mavs 2-1, while the Mavs beat the Lakers 2-1. The Blazers and Lakers are tied 1-1 with one HUGE game remaining. The Mavs are going to win their Division so doesn't that automaticall bumps them up into the #4 spot? I don't think they get homecourt though. I remember something similar years ago with the Blazers during the Roy era. Does that mean Portland is pretty much playing for 6th place right now against the Lakers? Are there other favorable scenarios for the Blazers?

I have no answer for you DM, but I have a question to add to yours. Are Mavs safe from the play-in if they finish with 7th best record? IOW, can Mavs win their division and be eliminated from playoffs in the play-in?

they got rid of division leader being guaranteed a top four seed in the 2015-2016 season, so currently Dallas would be the #5. But as long as there is a three way tie, Division winner will be the #1 tie breaker even if Portland wins the season series against both teams.

Our first choices for 1st round opponent are Mavs, Suns, then Jazz. There is no way to get matched against Mavs. So, that leaves Suns, Jazz, Nuggets, or Clippers. IMO, Suns and Jazz are easily our best matchups. But, are we better off facing a play-in? I think we should win all the remaining games we can and let the chips fall where they may.

Thanks pinman. I hadn't heard that and haven't really seen it happen (that I've noticed anyway) since the Blazers were the #5 team, but moved up to #4 back when Roy was still playing.

Hate to see a player deal with injuries, but that's fortuitous.

If I'm the Lakers, I sit LeBron tonight against the Clippers and play him tomorrow against the Blazers. They're not going to catch the Clippers, but need to stay ahead of the Blazers to finiah in 6th place and avoid the play-in game.

I haven't looked up how the play-in works. I would really prefer the 7th or 8th seed. But, I also don't want to get cought in a fair fight against the Warriors. How much of a chance does the 9 or 10 team get to jump into the playoffs?

Here it is:
the team with the 7th-highest winning percentage in each conference will host the team with the 8th-highest winning percentage in a Play-In Game (the “Seven-Eight Game”). The winner of the Seven-Eight Game in each conference will earn the No. 7 seed.

The team with the 9th-highest winning percentage in each conference will host the team with the 10th-highest winning percentage in the “Nine-Ten Game”. The loser of the Seven-Eight Game will host the winner of the Nine-Ten Game in a Play-In Game, and the winner of that game in each conference will earn the No. 8 seed.

I would rather be 6th seed against Nuggets or Clippers, than face the play-in. Anything can happen in 1 game against Grizzlies. We could be in a 1 game tournament against the Warriors, no thanks. That's BS, last year we had to beat Grizzlies 2 games. Grizzlies had 2 chances and needed only 1 win to hold 8th seed. After beating Grizzlies twice, we had the 8th best record. Warriors can jump a team while having a worse record. This is the dumbest thing the NBA has ever done. Nobody has to beat any 1 team twice. So, no superiority is established.
