Lillard versus Wall on offense basically comes down to whether you want your PG to shoot threes or create assists. I expect Wall is better for some rosters and Lillard is better for others.

Not trying to target you or anything, thought we had a nice discussion last summer. Lilllard is averaging 7.4 asts per game and Wall is at 8, while all the things about Dame being the better scorer/shooter are holding steady. Not having Batum is really opening up the passing opportunities for Dame. Wall just had the ball in his hands all the time like Westbrook went KD went down, which is gonna lead to more Asts. Kinda like how Curry's Ast % jumped when Monta was traded.

I''d still take Dame over Wall 10/10. For example if you teamed up Wall with McCollum I think we would have a worse team, but Wash and Beal would be better off.

He probably will shoot a worse FG% and take more shots because he won't be on as competitive a team therefore he will be playing more 'meaningless' games, but some people here are acting like his numbers were a facade.

And people are sure his teammates influenced his stats in a positive way... From my seat it looked like the vast majority of the time Lillard brought the ball up and (after dealing with traps and double teams) dumped it to LMA and then moved out to create space. He often became the outlet if the play broke down, which is obviously a low percentage option. The only time I consistantly saw the offense centered around him was in end of game situations, which again is typically low percentage.

In my mind, if the offense is built around Lillard his efficency could stay the same, or maybe even improve. Maybe that's just my rose-colored glasses.

Maybe it was, I know I had mine on last summer! it doesn't mean you were wrong though!

Lakers might regret passing on Okafor huh? He might be better than KATs. I guess it was cause the last 2nd overall pick to be a Okafor was a disappointment. lol.

I too think Wall is overrated. He's a superb defensive PG, but his offense leaves a lot to be desired when we're talking about All Star calibre players.

It's almost certain that they will, Russell has failed to play well in what's a decent sample size of games since he was drafted, particular his summer league performances were a pretty big red flag. Okafor on the other hand has been putting up 20 ppg on decent efficiency. I've been disappointed by Okafor's rebounding, as his body is awesome on paper in that department, which is a shame, but hopefully he can pick it up.

Very surprised they passed on what was thought to be a sure thing big man.

Just taking a look at synergy on NBA.com and man am I glad McCollum is allowed to run PnRs now. He has a better PPP than Westbrook and Dame CP3 and Wall.

And ppl complaining he goes 1 on 1 too much..He only has Isos makeup 9% of his possessions. Of which he has a 1.14PPP and scores 52% of the time. dame is at a even higher PPP and scores 48% of the time....so if the play breaks down give it to them.

In the early going of this season, Lillard has been playing fantastic basketball and Wall has been pretty meh. Wall is still a better defender but if things continue as they currently are, Lillard is clearly the preferable player.

I didn't expect Lillard to look this good as the focal point of a team. He's maintained a 2-1 AST/TO ratio and improved his %s while taking a big usage bump up. Usually doesn't work that way.

McCollum is averaging more pull-up points than anyone not named Curry or Westbrook. That is impressive. Westbrook is shooting 40% on pull-ups Curry is shooting 47.7% and McCollum is shooting 46.5%. Wow so that means off the dribble so far this year, McCollum has been hitting shots at a Curry like rate.

That is damn impressive. Also one of the reasons opposing fans call him Curry-lite.

Houston have fired McHale.

James Harden is probably as bad of a leader as you could imagine. I'd take Dwight over Harden as a leader, and that's saying something..........

To be honest I never saw McHale as a great coach. I saw him more of the type that can manage veteran egos and by virtue of his championship pedigree could make those players buy into the team concept. So now that it looks like couldn't do that with Howard and Harden it was time to go.

That was a great game for how impactful the PnR can be. The Clips started laying the big back for "Ice" PnRs but Curry was not letting them by taking the three off every PnR. So the started to trap, but with Draymond as the Roll big, Stpeh gave up the ball and now you have Draymond at the top of the key with 3 of his teammates covered by 3 players and him open. Either he makes a open shot at the rim or he passes to the teammate whose defender leaves him to stop the ball (Draymond Green). That lead to open corner threes for Iggy.

Finally the Clips tried switching the PnRs, but this just put Blake Griffin or DJ on Curry whenever they set a screen, and that is just too easy for Chef Curry.

The thing people won't notice though, is having a guy like Green setting the screen made the Clips unable to trap on the PnR, or else it was open shots from Green's vision. Without him they would have happily trapped Curry like Houston did to Dame last game. This is because Plumlee at the top of the key is not gonna do a lot and Aminu at the corner three is not gonna do a lot either. However having a guy like Meyers who is a good passer (but unlike Plumlee) and shoots well, could make teams pay for trapping Dame by slipping the pick and taking the easy 17 footer, wide open, a shot he shoots at about a 45-50% clip.

Meyers takes pressure off Dame a bit like Draymond does to curry in the PnR. Plumlee does not as the screen setter, and that is why we need him healthy soon, or teams will just trap Dame late in games without consequence. Granted Meyers is not a killer, but he is about all we got in that regard.

Still a really dumb trade by the Bucks. I get not wanting to pay Knight, but MCWs? That team needed a combo Guard like knight, not a inefficient scorer/passing specialist who has a low ast/to ratio and looks like he may never reach knights scoring output.

So far so good, man you think the Bucks probably wanna re-do that trade.

Knight------20.5ppg 4.9Asts 4.3Rebs 3.2TOs 44% and 38% from 3 on 6 attempts.
McCollum--20.3ppg 3.2Asts 3.7Rebs 2.4TOs 44% and 37% from 3 on 5 attempts.

MCW------12.7ppg 5.1Asts 3.6Rebs 3.4TOs 43% and 33% from 3 on 2 attempts.

Oh man, the rockets suck again. If only that Brewer shot missed they'd be looking at a 5 game losing streak. I think they are down for the count, either an 8th seed blow out sweep like Dwight Howard's Lakers in 2012, or miss the POs entirely and that stuck up Gm of theirs gets fired. Man it feels so good to hate again, they have been the saving grace of hate-ability now that the Lakers have been in the basement for so long. I think I dislike harden and his "MVP" caliber play more than Kobe's.

Well, Colour me surprised, as bad as we have been on defense, we are still better than the Lopez led defense of 2013/2014 . That was with Wes and Batum on the wing, LMA and Lopez down low VS McCollum and Aminu, with Vonleh and Plumlee down low.

Makes you wonder if this team can pick it up on D as the season goes on like that group did, and maybe become good at it like that Lopez led defense did last year.

I suspect it is because our defense on the bench is much better than that (2013/2014) year was.
