I hope Minny makes the POs to get that monkey (and annual tradition) off their back. However does no one else see the impact a guy like Butler can have on Wiggins who has not really progressed like some have hoped?

I don't think that Thibs is going to even be bashful in his giving the car keys to Butler to do whatever he wants. I remember the young guys at Chicago were sick of Wade and Butlers treatment while their season was falling apart. KATs I am sure as the best player on the team just wants to win and he doesn't play a similar position, but I can really see those 2 wings butting heads, style wise.

We just saw Irving go from back to back conf final wins to not want to be the proxy PG to LBJs. Then you trow in Teague who is a similar ball dominate player and I just don't see from a style of play perspective how that trio will work on the perimeter. In fact it seems to me very Chicago like with Wade, Butler and Rondo. If only one of these 3 could catch and shoot well that would solve a lot of potential problems for Minny.

People see big names and just assume big thing so that just puts more pressure on them to figure it out quickly, you can't figure out what doesn't work though.

IMO They should've just traded Wiggins for Butler straight up, I see Zach Lavine fitting with Butler much better than Wiggins. Could've kept that top 7 pick too.

There were people on this board that said they would have preferred Giles to either Collins or Swanigan back on draft day.

There is reason to have doubt that Giles will ever play in the NBA.

Luke Babbitt sighting. Have to admit I didn't see him sticking in the league for 331+ games.

He's really latched on to a third string stretch four or stretch four rotation player on teams depleted of talent.

Clownzano not the only Clown

I guess Harden is one of those guys who canNOT take a little criticism. He took what was a 90% compliment as 100% negative. And, I think McHale is 100% right in his comments and counter comments.

I think we might have walked away with the two best bigs in the draft, depends on how John Collins develops.

But yeah, I was very much against the Giles hype. Some of the worst knees I've seen in a draft pick and no skills to back it up.

....... Canzano literally has nothing to do with this story. You could have said Pennywise and the Joker not the only clowns and it would have had as much relevance.

Harden unjustifiably called McHale a clown. Clownzano is an actual clown and it's worth mentioning that fact whenever possible.

Merged as the topic does not involve the Blazers.

As far as the tiff between Harden and McHale goes, I can see why Harden would be upset that his former coach would bag out his leadership, but he took it too far by saying he never learned anything from McHale. The discussion that a coach has a right to criticize a player is a valid one, but doing so publicly is not the best avenue for such criticism, IMO.

Vegas favors Portland to make the playoffs this season. shame there's no prop bet for "4 game sweep by the Warriors".

do you consider Kuzma a "big", he looks like he might be the steal of the later 1sr rd and we picked Caleb one pick ahead. Jordan Bell picked in the 2nd rd looking good as well. I like Caleb but have some concerns, we'll see

I guess the rift between Lamarcus Aldridge and the Spurs wasn't nearly as wide as rumored. The new extension keeps him a Spur (barring trade) till at least June 30, 2021, and possibly June 30, 2022 (when he'd be 3 weeks from turning 37)

also, did anybody read the latest Greg Popovich rant against Trump? It was brutal; Trump may be picking a fight with the NBA next

I mean, I would imagine it was about as bad as it was with Portland and him. It was just typical Aldridge complaining, but with that kind of money on the table, he was stupid not to take it. Strange the Spurs put a trade kicker in it tho....

Not to get too deep into politics, but Trump never seems interesting in fighting with the NBA as much for some reason. My guess is he's still butthurt about the NFL not letting him into their club when he wanted to buy a team. He's well known to hold grudges, would stand to reason that would be why he goes after the NFL like crazy but not the NBA even though the NBA and Pop probably are some of the loudest critics of his.

Yeah.... I always questioned his "elite" level that people prop him up to. My thought is he would probably go back to the player he was pre-LeBron on the Cavs. Which was good, but not as amazing as people made him out to be once he was playing with LeBron and working off the ball primarily.

In case you can't tell, I've never bought the Irving hype.

It's tough to hear about a player going down, 5 minutes into the season.

I feel awful for Hayward. I feel awful for their owner...that's a lot of years of money to be paying for a player that may never be the same again. I feel bad for their fans too, even though they are some of RealGM's most obnoxious. Must feel similar to the Oden injury...

I had the mouse hovering over the video of the Hayward injury but couldn't click it. The still pictures were gruesome enough; and the reaction of the players on the Cav's bench was enough to tell me it was bad. Several of them turned their heads, jumped up, and ran away...that's no exaggeration either

I hope these aren't omens for this NBA season. Yesterday you had Portis putting a teammate in the hospital with a sucker punch; then 5 minutes into the season, that Hayward injury....yikes!
