That's an interesting infograph, but it's a bit counter-intuitive. It would make more sense if easier was lower and harder was higher.

download the picture and rotate 180 degrees...or you can lock your screen and turn it upside down....or stand on your head

you're a Blazer fan so graphs had a lower degree of difficulty earlier in the season, it's later in the season now so graphs have a higher degree of difficulty. They'll really be difficult at the end of March

yeah...I've been drinking

Sure, but also:

2011 Chicago, 62W-20L
2018 Blazers, maybe 48W-34L if they are wildly lucky?

That Bulls team also played in a weak Eastern conference ans had prime Noah, Boozer, Deng, Korver, Gibson, Asik - even Scalabine is 100x better than Leonard. Combine both rosters and what Blazers get consistent playing time? CJ, Nurkic, and...?

Totally, I get it...and I realize it's just for reference. And certainly amazing work by Lillard. But obviously, team record is a building block to being a true MVP candidate...that's all I was pointing out.

It really doesn't...Brewer has lost a step the last couple years.

That being said, remember when Olshey was handing out money in 2016? Well he should have looked over at what Brewer was making and given Turner that amount.

If it were possible, I'd trade Turner for Brewer in a heartbeat.

a little OT but interesting nonetheless....I looked up Corey Brewer to get a snapshot of his career & contracts and I saw a former Blazer was part of a Brewer trade....Rudy Fernandez. It's interesting to look at the genesis of Rudy's NBA career:

February 24, 2005: Traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers (as a future 2007 1st round draft pick) to the Boston Celtics for Jiri Welsch.

June 28, 2006: Traded by the Boston Celtics (as a future 2007 1st round draft pick) to the Phoenix Suns for Brian Grant and Rajon Rondo.

June 28, 2007: Drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round (24th pick) of the 2007 NBA Draft.

July 11, 2007: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with James Jones to the Portland Trail Blazers for cash.

June 23, 2011: As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the Portland Trail Blazers with Petteri Koponen to the Dallas Mavericks; the Dallas Mavericks traded Jordan Hamilton and Tanguy Ngombo to the Portland Trail Blazers; the Denver Nuggets traded Raymond Felton to the Portland Trail Blazers; and the Portland Trail Blazers traded Jordan Hamilton, Andre Miller and a 2014 2nd round draft pick (Devyn Marble was later selected) to the Denver Nuggets.

December 13, 2011: Traded by the Dallas Mavericks with Corey Brewer to the Denver Nuggets for a 2016 2nd round draft pick (Demetrius Jackson was later selected). The 2nd round draft pick that Dallas received was top 55 protected, but that protection was removed in a later deal.

obviously, the first two transactions explain how the Suns ended up with the 24th pick

June 23, 2011 was a momentous day for Portland; they traded Andre Miller, Rudy Fernandez, rights to Petteri Koponen, and a 2nd round pick for Raymond Felton. yeeeeeeesh!

I'd trade Turner for Fatty Felton straight up as well...they are very similar statistically, except one makes 16M more per year...if you don't count burger budget.

it's pretty sad....last night was actually a 'decent' game for Turner because he didn't screw up and commit any egregious turnovers or throw up a lot of bricks. It's sad because a decent game for him was 2pts-1reb-4ast-1trn in 19 minutes, and two of the assists came when he was falling out of bounds and had great luck in finding somebody in the last micro-second. This it what it's come to for him, and it comes at the same time that Harkless is playing so well and having a good impact

two more years of Turner/Meyers unless Olshey can find a sucker somewhere....yuck

The Wolves though are a solid top 4 team in the west if they can get Jimmy Butler back.

Yeah, I would have loved to see the Blazers take a chance on him too.

Man. Giannis is such a great player. And I'm not sure I've seen something so simplistically hilarious this season than moments ago when he went for a crucial three, held his follow through, the crowd rose for his straight away shot..

And it airballed right in front of the net. Amazing.

I saw that live as well and found it quite funny. I like Giannis but couldn't stop myself from chuckling.

I find it interesting the league is preparing to get involved with high school prospects in the
aftermath of the NCAA scandals and that its likely 18 year olds or perhaps younger might
end up being allowed to enter the draft.

That would likely require a much larger investment in player development for each team in
the league with expansion of the G league and direct involvement with parent NBA teams
with a Blazers assistant coach implementing the head coach's basketball system for the
times a player is brought to the main roster. Likely the Blazers already know where to place
their G league team when the need comes.

Olshey did an interview with Woj the other day and they actually talked extensively about both getting away from the NCAA and coaching HS kids again and the Blazers view of the G-League.

I've never quite understood why there even needs to be a separate G-league. Just allow teams to expand their rosters to 30 players. Use the same facilities at different times, call up players as needed, play games before regular season games that feature these kids--so you get two games for the price of a regular ticket, if you want.

It seems really, really easy.
