OT: The Eclipse

Post#1 » by Wizenheimer » Mon Aug 21, 2017 9:50 pm

well, most things don't live up to the hype, but the eclipse this morning did

watched it from our deck in West Salem. Awesome show, especially with the Oregon Weather in full cooperation mode. Apparently, it was even clear on the coast

glad I'm not on I-5 today though

So my niece decides that today would be a good day to get married ... in Michigan's UP. Well the next total eclipse in the U.S. is in 2024. I'll try for that one. Glad that you enjoyed it. Great location for you, not having to deal with traffic.

It was cool to see it get dark for a couple of minutes. That's for sure!

I worked nightshift and came home and went to bed so I slept through it.

Thanks for posting the videos, Shem. I don't have a TV at the moment so being from Australia I didn't get to see it.

It didn't get as dark as I remember it getting back in the 70's but then again I was only 8. I was actually surprised by the company I work for when they allowed us to leave the factory floor to go see it otherwise we don't have windows were I work so I would have missed it.

That's awesome! My company just called off work altogether and I've been coming later all week since it's not overtime money anyhow
