Brian Wheeler Taking Health-Related Break

Post#1 » by Wizenheimer » Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:35 pm

Brian Wheeler has announced he will miss at least the first 3 games because of a health issue, Scrotal Lymphedema. That's the same issue that had him miss games in 2013

http://www.nbcsports.com/northwest/portland-trail-blazers/blazers-radio-broadcaster-brian-wheeler-sidelined-health-issues

I guess the treatment is to diet and lose weight although I believe he's been trying to diet for years, with little lasting success

if you don't know much about Scrotal Lymphedema you can google it but I warn you, some of the pictures you see will make you run away screaming from your computer...and you'll be running hunched over as well

Without even googling, I can imagine what "scrotal" means.

When you really don't want to look something up but you do anyways...

Best of wishes to Wheels, that sounds pretty awful hopefully he can recover from this.

One would if wheels is gone for some time, that Kevin Calabro would fill in after game 3.

what I'd like to see/hear is Callabro working with Antonio Harvey. That way I could gauge if Lamar Hurd is as bad as I think he is

No. Michael Holton is going to do radio commentary with Wheels at home games.

All the best to Wheels. Before I had League Pass, I listened to his radio broadcasts to catch Blazer games "live" back in the late 00s. He has such a flare. Still love "The Natural" as a nickname for B-Roy.
