Tony Allen

Post#1 » by Pdx4life » Wed Feb 14, 2018 4:37 pm

Not sure if it's financially feasible but I'd love to see the Blazers sign Tony Allen. We need a lock down defender on the wing that doesn't demand the ball a lot and the "Grindfather" is one of the best man defenders in the league. I know we have open roster spots but not sure if we want to spend the $. I heard they went after Bellineli though so seems like they could make it happen. Thoughts?

I think we have decent wing defenders in Turner, Harkless and Aminu. If anything, I would much rather have a shooter to bolster our wing.

I think we will be going with 2-way contracts and maybe 10 day deals.

Blazers won't pay luxury taxes for what will likely be a practice player. So, any contract will be timed to go to the end of year without exceeding luxury threshold.

Thank you. I still have no clue why the Blazers let him go...

...The career .417 3pt shooter whom the Blazers could have had on the roster for free until Jan. 9th. As opposed to supposed 3pt specialist, Jake Layman's 4/18 3pt shooting that the Blazers have to pay 1.3M for.

Yes, the same Morrow that both Lillard and CJ talked about not missing a single shot in practices...

Morrow is available waiting for his phone to ring.

I think Olshey will sign a young player. Every year Blazers go into the offseason with a recently signed youngster that isn't part of the team the next season.

Also, the other guy I was hoping Olshey would go after, Belinelli scored 17 points in his debut tonight with the 76ers. Meanwhile, Olshey's crown jewel, Evan Turner has only hit 17 points 11 times in his 119 games as a Blazer.

Belinelli signed for less than $800,000 with the 76ers.
Turner signed for $17,500,000 per year.
