This is the worst loss ever for Blazers fans. I'm sure the loss to Blazers fans is nothing compared to Allen's family.

Such a great owner in sports. Truly dedicated for the sports world who will be truly missed. Glad he got a Seahawks title

Just 2 weeks ago he was saying the doctors were optimistic about his diagnosis. Sad day. He did a lot of good in this world. He will certainly be missed

There has been a plan in place for the Blazers and Seahawks for a couple of years in the event of Paul Allen's death. Paul's sister Jody does not want to own either team according to my sources. So look for both teams to be sold by Allen's estate.

If the Blazers get sold hopefully they stay in pdx. Not saying it’s likely they leave but this throws things into question more than I would’ve thought a week ago

I hope Olshey remains in control of the team management. I can only handle so much sudden loss.

I admired the guy, that made his fortune, and spent it how he wanted, and the Pacific Northwest benefited.

end of an era...he bought the Blazers 30 years ago, so, 3 decades of his ownership. He paid 70M and the latest valuation was 1.3B; although some of that is from the Moda Center

Going to be a rough and shaky year for us all here with a lot of rumors and speculation.

Where the team plays has more to do with who our political leaders are than who owns the team. See what happened to Seattle. By contrast, look at Sacramento. Their owners wanted to sell their franchise to the highest bidder and the NBA blocked any sale that moved the team because of the support by Sacramento political leaders.

Sad day indeed. He was a great owner and we are all lucky that he was committed to team and the city. Ownership transitions are always scary for the fans.

I have a hard time believing the team would be moved to any of the proposed "new" options like Seattle or Las Vegas. The team would generate more money being established here, than getting injected into a new market. I highly doubt the NBA would allow a move to happen.

The TYPE of ownership is completely up for grabs. We've been spoiled by the constancy and deep pockets of PA for a long time. Owners typically have a massive amount to do with the tone-setting for a franchise...things could be very different in time.

I'm shocked. Man PA was a tough guy and I was sure he'd get over it just like he did the first time. Gosh that's devastating news. Too early man.

You made a lasting impact in the world we live in today and that brought us all together. You were a great Sports Team Owner as well. Thank you for everything.

I don't think the NBA would allow a move for the simple reason that there would be no teams left in the northwestern part of the country anymore. There's be a void in about a quarter of the market and also going into Canada. And we don't have an issue of an outdated stadium like the Sonic owners used as an excuse to get to move.

But I'm aware we're going to see a lot of rumors, a lot of speculation and probably moments of panic and it's going to be a rough year for us that way.

I'm not surprised his sister doesn't want to own the teams, we've heard gossip about that for at least a decade if I remember right. I'm interested to see what kind of owner we do get, it'll set the tone for the next thirty or so years.
