Should be a tough one to win, Nurkic was paramount in taking care of Detroit last game. I would consider it a bit of an upset if the Blazers can snag a win here though.

Tough to see a Blazer win here, but there is wood for the fire with everyone predicting Portland's season to be meaningless now with the Nurkic injury, so we'll see how far that can carry Portland.

In addition to the fresh memory of the recent close Blazer win, Detroit has a lot at stake in this game as they are in a close race for playoff seeding (and heck, playoff qualification).

Now it starts to get really tough. We could lose the next seven in a row to close the season out. It's a possibility.

Like has been said, this was a tough game with Nurkic. Collins cannot guard Drummond so we will see more of Leonard in this game. That' not necessarily a bad thing as he will pull Drummond out to the 3 point line which should open up the inside a bit. We gotta get more from our starters (Harkless, Layman, & Aminu) than normal. I think a win will take 8 players in double figures (5 starters and Curry, Hood, and Collins). Need to move the ball, find cutters, and hit the open shots. I'm hoping Leonard can find his 3 point shot. If he doesn't, Drummond can sag off him and the Blazers are screwed.

Leonard will get destroyed by Drummond ,he's not strong enough to handle Drummond...… Kanter plays Drummond tough ,arguably winning the last 2 individual battles against Drummond when they played against each other.
Last 2 head to head between Drummond/Kanter …..Kanter 16 pts 14 rebs +3 / Drummond 6pts 14 rebs -13 , Kanter 22pts 16 rebs +17 / Drummond 18 pts 15 rebs -10

Seems to be a lot of doubt towards Kanter already ,like he can't play. Stats show he puts up great #'s against everybody, gives up pts too to the great players BUT is never dominated by anybody as he can go tit for tat. I haven't seen him look bad in his 2 starts .Big difference playing for a good team than playing for a tanking NY team when it counts to your reputation.

I agree I think the Stotts system makes Centers look far more effective and really plays to their strengths. Nurkic never looked as good in Denver as he does in Portland.

Damn, this game is rather ugly so far both teams having trouble scoring. Blazers defense has looked pretty good though really protecting the rim well and preventing easy layups.

ugliest half of basketball I've seen this year. Both teams deserve to lose right now

and Rockets are winning so Portland would drop to 4th seed if they lose

Refs are letting A LOT of contact go...which favors Detroit, and it's showing in this game.

Well Detroit got into the penalty in the 3rd quarter rather quickly but then refs swallowing the whistle.
