Yes, thanks for the game threads BC!

I look forward to some meaningful Blazer basketball!

IMO, the WCF will be Denver vs. Clippers, so I'm not expecting a win tomorrow night, but it'll still be interesting to see if the preseason was any kind of indicator for where this Blazer team is at.

I don't see tomorrows game as the first game in a elimination series. It's one of many regular season games where team match ups are irrelevant to the end result. Nuggets can sweep the Blazers in the regular season and Blazers can beat the Nuggets in a 7 game playoff series when it's all about match ups. I believe the Blazers addressed their match up difficulties we had in last years playoffs, but that isn't necessarily going to translate to winning regular season games. Regular season success is more about having a good formula or a general game plan that you are able to regularly execute to perfection. Blazers do have a good formula, but our new group of players plugs some weaknesses that good teams could exploit when focused on preparing to specifically play the Blazers.

Sure. On paper anything is possible. Nobody has seen this Blazer team play a meaningful game, so they could go 82-0 or 0-82 and nobody has any real proof otherwise at this point.

As I always say in my prediction posts, injuries are a huge component in both regular season and post season success. You can have the most talented players in the NBA but if they are in street clothes it means nothing in the W column. The Lakers come to mind.

If Denver stays healthy and can build on the continuity that they've built up the past few seasons, they are going to be a tough matchup for anybody...especially considering their HCA.

Of course injuries are a factor, but not all injuries are the same. It depends on who is injured and when. It's all over for the Blazers if Lillard or CJ are injured in a 7 game series, but Blazers have many good combinations of players in our supporting cast. Blazers certainly would have had fewer problems in the Playoffs last year had Nurkic been healthy, but ultimately the only skill be lacked without Nurkic was rebounding and to a lesser extent rim protection. Many of the things Nurkic does very well were not missed at all, which was a surprise to me.

Less than a day away, and I'm GEEKED! I expect us to win if we do 4 things well.

1. Unselfish play with 25+ Assists. Make the extra pass to get great shots instead of good ones.

2. Play great Defense as a unit especially around the rim, with good weak side help, and rotations.

3. Win the rebound battle.

4. Play uptempo the whole game. Have Denver exhausted be the 4th.

The rebound battle will certainly be big. The Nuggets will be a tough test of our rim protection because Nuggets are very good at keeping the defense off balance. It will be tough for Blazers to get their team defense together so quickly.

Nuggets are going to kick our ass at passing and getting players good shots with ball movement. This is what the Nuggets are great at, in addition to rebounding.

Did anyone notice Harkless had a good game tonight? We are going to see ex Blazers have good games all year.

I expect Harkless to have a really good season, but then again on a team as talented as LAC its going to come easy.

If I was a betting man, I would put LAC / DEN in the WCF, but I also think we match very well with DEN as they seem to have troubles covering scoring guards with good/great handles.

Most excited to see Zach, Simons and Mario. Incremental improvement over last season depends on them and the potential each still carries. Your not going to get better from last year relying on finished things like Kent Bazemore.

Meyers started the game for Miami; wearing Dame's number and is already on the receiving end of a poster:

I will never trust a Harkless good game because the man was the most hot and cold player we have had he either looked like a borderline all-star or he literally disappeared on the court. His game is far too hot and cold and it seems like he will give you 2-3 great weeks then 2-3 weeks of very subpar play.
