Thoughts on an Andre Drummond trade?

Would you consider trading for Drummond? Seems like the Pistons fans are unhappy with him and don’t expect him to re-sign with them. Just curious if a Whiteside for Drummond trade work and Blazers add a possible first round pick.

i highly doubt having both nurk and drummond would end up well, given neither of them would be willing to come of the bench and nurk is a better player... nurks health is an issue, so if we trade nurk at some point, i would like to have drummond

Who would be a better fit moving forward. Drummond is a monster averaging 20 and 18.

No. Not much more to say.
Drummond is not as impactful as his stats suggest, Nurkic is more impactful than his stats suggest. And younger, and cheaper and his competitive drive far higher.
We need to improve the forward spots, not add another only-can-play-center guy on a long deal who would be a 20+ million backup once Jusuf returns.

i dont know if theres a center in the league thats a better fit than nurk for this team... i dont know if theres better pnr duo than dame and nurk, nurk also sets great screens, can run the offense a bit, provides low post scoring, not to mention his defense
the only red flag about nurk is his health, absolutely nothing else

I can't imagine the Piston's FO WANTING to trade Drummond, but if they KNOW he won't be resigning with them, then I imagine there would be plenty of suitors. As mentioned, the guy IS a monster and of outstanding character.
Until I hear that he wants a trade or that the Pistons are shopping him, along with the fact that we don't have movable assets to get him until February, I'll just leave it alone, adding that Whiteside and an FRP isn't nearly enough IMO.

I don't pay much attention to what is going on in Detroit. I read something last summer saying that Drummond believes he is a max player. Drummond has a player option for 20-21, which means this is a contract year if Drummond really believes he is a max player. I assume Pistons don't believe Drummond is a max player. Blazers probably plan to resign Whiteside for between $9-14M per season. Can Blazers resign Drummond if we trade Whiteside for him? It sounds like resigning Drummond might be a fouls mission.

Drummond and Nurkic on the same team won’t work. Besides both being only able to play the C positiom, both are starters and have bristled in the past at coming off the bench.

We wouldn't be able to retain both Drummond and Nurk. I think Whiteside's value is lower and we might be able to retain him as a backup.
What would be really cool is if we could sign and trade Whiteside to Boston and get Kanter back.
