I'm really happy for the Blazers and Melo. Dame had been pushing for this and gaining extra goodwill from your star is always nice.

Also, PF Melo with space and an actual PG should be nice. I always though Melo was at his best at PF and it's awesome that the Blazers aren't forcing some goofy expectation of him being a spot up 3 or shooter only or anything. I hope this works out awesome for both teams.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Goes to show these awards are BS. Melo isn't the Blazers of the week. How can he be the western conference player of the week?

That guy loves hearing himself speak. He really didn't have anything of value to say or even seem to grasp what is going on.

Look, Melo has been great. Absolutely, unexpectedly great. But that was a symbolic POTW. It should have gone to Doncic or, ugh, Harden.

Nobody thinks he was the best player in the western conference last week. I think it was awarded because of the overall situation. To go from out of the league to what he did last week in such a short period, at the age that he did it, the NBA felt was deserving of the award of performance of the week. At the end of the day, who really cares? It will probably end up in one of his drawers in a guest bedroom.

Yeah, he's about as full of **** as he can be. It was funny when he tried to set himself apart from the "talking heads." He succeeded by being a talking empty head. There is plenty of good material in the Melo story, but this guy is so dumb he couldn't make 1 good point in the time I listened before tuning out. I got to when he said he would dumb it down. How could he get even dumber than what I already heard? His voice-over is proof I will tolerate almost anything to watch Blazer highlights.

Well, Olshey took care of that, before anyone even had a chance to wonder if. Just hoping we continue to see Carmelo play well, at a high level, and mesh well with his teammates, especially Dame. I think he has had a positive influence on Whiteside, and I can see these two guys forming a bond. I would like to see them played together as much as possible, be the first two starters to rest, but more importantly, the first two starters to return to boost the bench. Scary thought... These two could possibly be coming off our bench next year, with Simons and Little.

I have to say, I've really enjoyed watching Melo on the team. I love watching him interact with his teammates. It's been much better than I expected so far.

Sixers fan here but sending my best wishes to Melo and the Blazers. Loved the moves he showed against the Warriors the other day. Has clearly sustained a nice scoring average as a third option, right? Im happy for you guys.

He still does a bit too much hero ball for my liking but the good far outweighs the bad. I have been a bit of a chicken little this year but we are something like 7-4 in our last 13 games and that would be inverse at best if Melo was not here.

In the post, in transition and shooting the 3, he has been better than expected. Rebounding and defense about what I expected. Less hero ball, but still a bit too much, than expected. Overall he has been one of the best mid season signings in franchise history. I cant imagine our already janky offense trying to function without him.

It's a feel good story and that's what we need more of.

Happy for Melo. Happy for the Blazers. Get that knee right!

I never was a Melo fan ... starting with his rookie year. BUT when Lillard and McCollum wanted him 2 years ago, I looked at it as them being comfortable with any adjustments. And 2 years later, he came cheap and wanted to play. It’s worked. He is jacking some shots up, but he’s also playing within the framework of the team. So long as he plays smart, veteran ball inside and takes corner and straight on 3’s, it’s effective.

Plenty of credit goes to the players, coaches, and team.
