Thank you for these fine examples of unbelievable and not credible reports. They are not credible because they are stories without any named source that would have information that isn't pure speculation. The most important factor is why they are not believable. The claim is that Hawes and Blazers met, this is fine. Also, it is claimed that Blazers offered a full mid-level exception to Hawes, this is plain on its face BS. Unless the Blazers could lock-in their core players (Aldridge and Lillard), the most the Blazers could offer any minor bit role players was a 1-year guarantee. That's how long the Blazers had their core players on Hawes's timeline. The Blazers were prepared to jettison quality role players like Matthews and Lopez that were on Aldridge's timeline without the commitment of Aldridge, so they certainly were not going to allow themselves to be encumbered by an expensive bit player. So, how long do you think this so-called meeting lasted?

I also doubt the Blazers wanted Hawes, but anyone's speculation is as good as mine. We needed a center and we got a better center than Hawes on our terms.

We know as a fact Olshey pursued a young Hibbert. And, we have good credible reports that he pursued Monroe and Parsons. There is no credible or even believable report that Olshey pursued Hawes. This doesn't mean that it didn't happen, but I like to keep the rumors that aren't credible or that are obviously false on their face separate from the credible information. We didn't know that Olshey once pursued Bazemore and Gasol until after they finally recently signed contracts. The reason for that is Olshey doesn't improperly disclose information. So, if the player or his agent doesn't talk, we don't know.
