Sometimes it is better to be lucky to be talented. For instance, that end of quarter throw at the basket.

Damn Stotts is forcing the Blazers to miss too many free throws.

All of these close losses still count as losses. What a disaster start to the season. Portland can still pull it together. I remember the 2007-08 Blazers started 5-12 and then went on a 13-game winning streak. Where is Trout when we need him?

I don't really think it's going to happen this year man. This team feels almost exactly like 2011-12 Blazers.

Blazers got half the number of free throw attempts (16 to 32). This is getting to be a common thread. As I don't see the Blazers playing more aggressively than opponents, I think something is wrong. Stotts needs to throw a terrible tantrum, get kickd out, and fined. Probably more than once. He can't continue to allow the refs to punish the Blazers.

It probably won’t, but I haven’t completely given up hope yet. The bottom of the West is not that strong so far, so the playoffs are still a possibility.

There seem to be systemic and attitude problems that I don't think we can recover from. A LOT of selfish play going on with this team, and there seems to be no accountability for that.

You're right, it may turn around. But it's hard to imagine it getting better. They don't rotate, they don't scramble, they don't play hard, the offense is a stagnant iso-fest.

Yea it's bad. If they were getting straight out-talented it might be a bit more acceptable. But the way they play on both sides of the ball is straight up ugly.

Unless OSU can hang on and win on the road in Pullman, going to be an ugly Saturday night for the local
teams...

Makes me wonder if Portland is under water prior to the date in January when his contract gets guranteed,
if Portland would release Melo, which would allow him to sign with a contender.

as a Duck and Blazer fan...it looks like I picked the wrong time to stop sniffing glue.....yeeeeesh

Blazers are really bad right now. Injuries, roster turnover, and road games don't explain it all. Portland just sucks

STAT OF THE NIGHT:
Dame, CJ and Melo combined shooting: 20 of 54
Rest of team combined shooting: 19 of 33

Also take a look at the minutes played. Nice job Stotts.

So the theory is that minutes during the game should be distributed as to the post-game shooting efficiency numbrs. Very interesting and innovative.

The loss of role players of Aminu 'Curry and Harkless are really showing up big time.

Obviously your taking a stab at my post, so I'll just say...

It's not a theory, not very interesting, and not innovative.... It's more like 5th grade math.

Lillard is obviously not straight. The whole team revolves around his play. With a 50% version of Lillard, this team is among the league's worst, and that's showing right now. Until he's 100% healthy we should expect losses, and even then it's going to take some serious progressive breakthrough in order to expect wins against average NBA teams.

Blazers are playing without a Center right now...which isn't pretty. Blazers don't have a good rebounder on the team if Whiteside sits, other than Lillard...and he's a PG.

There were some pretty bad missed calls tonight in favor of Cleveland. I try not to harp on that too much because it's pointless...but lack of FT attempts is becoming a recurring theme.

I have a hard time buying into this. Watching that Bucks game, though they lost, they played the best basketball they've played all year, and almost won. Losing to the Cavs without them having K Love, and us having Dame is just another pathetic loss.

Lack of FT attempts happen when so many of your shot attempts are 3's, and rebounding will always suck when your only big is 25 feet from the basket setting screens.
