29 games left in the season...

Oftentimes these types of games will get a team really focused for the rest of the season. Hopefully
they will get Whiteside and perhaps Little back for the Sunday game with Miami for what's happened
has happened.

Denver probably is too. With playoff experience under there belt they could be better than us too, Though, if we are fully healthy it would be a battle again. Utah I agree, though. They dont look impressive at all.

I wasn't very impressed with denver last year. Portland had a one armed center with a reputation for bad defense and they won against a team with supposedly one of the best centers in the league. But its certainly possible denver this year is better. And yeah Portland needs health before i am thinking they win a playoff series this season.

Yeah maybe. But at least they can blow out an unmanned team on there own floor and not even make the game in question unlike Utah.

Big comments by CJ. Is there a Lillard interview?

Very bad call. Very sorry as a Jazz fan. We didn't deserve that game

Officials can go back and review a three point shot if its on the line and adjust the score after the game action continues but can't review this? It makes no sense. I would love to hear the conversation that happened this summer when the league office discussed reviewing a blatant goal tend that wasn't called and their reasoning for coming up with this decision.

Feels like we will end up in the dreaded 9 spot

Never want to leave it to one call. That 3rd quarter lost us the game. Even if that goaltend was called utah would’ve had 10 seconds to score an eternity

I don't understand why leagues, both NFL and NBA want to make all this stuff "non reviewable" then wait for some incident to happen which creates enough of a storm to change their minds. If the league doesn't want to review it, why can't the coach challenge it if he only has 1 challenge per game?

I've been saying for years, it's a fact of pro sports that the refs decide many games. And often times the lopsidedness of their officiating is greater than the spread the teams create through their actual play, which swings a game.

I dont think anyone disagrees, Utah could have easily won in regular time of play, but you still have to make that call and put the game in that situation especially as obvious as it was. Otherwise it makes the league and its refs look bad. How do they prevent this from happening in important games like the playoffs or championship? Pray the refs do the right thing and make the call then they can review it? Please.

I get annoyed with the franchise, particularly Olshey, when I see seven - just seven - healthy players competing so hard, knowing that buyouts are occurring and the Blazers have both an empty roster spot and cap exception to help. but then I remember what really matters - reduced payroll costs. so, yippie.

I will say one thing, its refreshing when a fabase comes here and admits that they didn't deserve the win. Utah has some really good posters on this forum. Never remember having an issue with any of them. I hope we would do the same if the call went in our favor.

I think this gets a rule change this offseason, so that's a potential glass half full way to look at it. The NBA better hope we don't miss the playoffs by a game, this chatter will come back when the league will want people to be excited about the POs.

Didn’t catch the game but saw we blew a 16 pt lead just to blame the outcome on one decision by the refs?

Man this would have been a nice one to snatch, as from the start without Whiteside, on a B2B in Utah, this was looking like a guaranteed loss. Damian just keeps putting us on his shoulders and it sucks it ended that way with the refs, but I love how this team continued to fight with only 7 active players by the end after losing Simons and Ariza.

Trent is looking pretty good. I might have to eat some crow comparing him to Allen Crabbe, as Trent is the same age (21) that AC was when we drafted him (actually a few months younger still but who's counting!) This league is a shooter league and if Trent can shoot 40% from 3 and play the kind of hard-nosed defense he has been playing then he will stick for a long time, maybe somewhere above Crabbe and more similar to Wes Matthews.

I loved the three possession, I think in quarter 2, when Trent and Mario bullied the Jazz's ball handlers and the screeners. I think at least one steal and also disorientation of the Jazz resulted. I think it is also just wrong that the front office allows the team to be so unmanned. If they care so little, then allow Stotts to minimize the minutes and have Mario at the point.Lose big!

Did you see the part where Swanigan, Hezonja, and Gabriel played big minutes in the second half and there were only 7 players available to play??? Lillard, CJ, and Trent Jr played the entire second half. You dont think fatigue played a factor?

Pattycakes also seemingly has never seen a 16 or more point lead vanish in an NBA game.
