Can't believe there is not a game thread, for a summer doldrums/Covid summer afternoon I can't believe I am this psyched as I had tuned out a good bit of the second half of the season. Nurk and Zach back is exciting. Anywhere here?

I heard that Whiteside is out with a sort calf/achilles. But is expected back for the 2nd scrimmage. Hopefully that doesn't become an issue.

They can be nagging, I am dealing with one right now that is keeping me off the tennis court, Nurk 4 rebs already I think

Yeah we saw what happened with Rodney. It just seems like something that medicine and trainers do not have perfect understanding of, based on the various nba achilles injuries we've seen with guys who were cleared to play. Hopefully this situation is not serious, and doesn't become more serious.

That was a nice spin move by Zach, Nurk "hoovering" the boards

One thing that is nice to see is the effort. From the few scrimmages I've watched, most teams look unpolished. But not every team has effort. Portland looks motivated.

Portland's definitely late to contest a lot of 3s though

Yeah sometimes Mario has been okay, but he seems like a more frustrating version of ET.

Portlands 3 point defense has not been good.

Does anyone know if the people without CSN will be able to see any of the games? Why have games if
we can't see them?

Looks like they actually tried to play more full on in the 3rd quarter, and there was some better defense.

Jaylen Hoard is pretty useless. I dont have any hope for him. Gabriel on the other hand is a really intriguing guy. Ant is completely invisible. GTJr has really surpassed him. I dont expect Simons to get much run in the last 8 regular season games

IF Hezonja can actually hit 3s like he did in this game, that would be a huge help

Ant is still really young expecting a fully polished NBA ready player from is a bit premature, I think he will look quite a bit better in a year or two. Who knows if the Blazers will stick with him long enough to get him into a more finished product.

Gabriel is a player I like quite a bit seems to have good instincts defensively and is a reasonable player on offense.

if Simons is old enough to go to war, he's old enough to average 18/6 on 50-40-90 shooting.

Scrimmage game --- doesn't count --- blah, blah, blah ... I think Blazer fans have a lot to look forward to.

Two great guards that play so well together --- add two bigs (Nurkic & Collins) that seem to fit nicely with each other and with the guards and that's a great core IMO. There are some nice role players too --- and of course there are some that could perhaps be replaced.

But if anyone wants to overlook Rip City; they are asking for trouble.
