Did NeO miss out....

Why didn’t NeO go after Warren when had a chance for cash considerations? Could he cleared cap space for Warren and would Warren have solved Portland's problem at the 3?

Did NeO miss out on Bol Bol as well? What about MPJ when Denver offered the 14th pick to take on Faried?

Portland would have hade to trade a first to create to create a tpe big enough to take on Warren as Phoenix was looking for cap space and not a player because they wanted to sign Rubio IIRC. And a first might not have been enough because the only player Portland could have traded to create a big enough tpe would have been Evan Turner which would have been a sizable contract for any team to take on without sending back some salary. Now in hindsight a first + whatever else it took would have been a good deal but Warren wasn't that well thought of then.

I liked Warren as a player while he was on the Suns.

Don't worry about it. This is going to be an interesting fall off season for there will be a bunch of
teams needing to cut salary given the impending drop in the cap and tax line.

Including the Blazers?

Do you have proof that Olshey DIDN'T go after any of the players you mentioned? Just because they aren't Blazers didn't mean he didn't try...
Now I'm going to go take a shower for being a Neil Olshey apologist.

Portland likely might think about cutting salary if after the tax line is announced, they are above
the line. More likely, they would cut Ariza loose to avoid taxes given the Dame/CJ extensions but
I'd think there will be other teams out there more likely to cut salary. I'm hoping Portland can
fill their needs for front court depth in a buyers market.

Olshey is adverse to drafting Oregon Ducks I swear. I wanted Dillon Brooks bad

Dillon Brooks is a gamer. I’m surprised how well he is doing.

Blazers have over $20M to spend
Edit: Many teams have budgeted for a $140M payroll because that was the projected tax threshold. Now, it appears the projected tax threshold is more like $120M. This is a problem for teams that have committed their money. Blazers haven't committed their money and we have avenue's to spend beyond the salary cap all the way up to (or beyond) the luxury tax. We have a $7M TPE, $2.3M TPE, MLE, and BAE. We also have a potentially valuable exception to re-sign Whiteside or trade Ariza.

Warren is empty stats. Look at his role. He is Pacers primary offensive player and has an absolute green light. On Blazers, he would NOT have the ball or get any shots. Warren wouldn't help the Blazers win a single game.

I am a Ducks homer and I see nothing wrong with this.
I also see Bell as a better player than Swanigan, which doesn't seem like that much of a reach so let me have that.

I agree, he’s on a team with Turner, Dipo and Sabonis I think he’s like the third option there.

Offensively Warren is a good guy to have as he's an above average at finishing plays. Problem is he doesn't do much on offense other than score, and he's not a plus defender. I like him, but he doesn't create for others, set good screens, or contain enough offensive gravity to free guys up. He's not gifted enough to be one of those guy that if you blink he's making something out of nothing. Neither is he a guy you want to run plays for when you have Dame, CJ, and Nurkic on the court. However he's just good enough that the other team has to play him honest and likely trap and double less with his man... although the same can be said for Melo, Hood, and GTJ.

Olshey has missed out on quite a few players. However, every single GM has missed out on players. The draft is impossible to predict. FA is often times about fit. GMs aren't gods. All GMs swing and miss. I have mixed feelings about Olshey and what he's done here, but I certainly wouldn't hold TJ Warren and Bol Bol.
Danny Ainge, Sam Presti, Neil Olshey, Sam Hinkie, Dennis Lindsey, and Joe Dumars all passed on Giannis.
RC Buford (and every other GM) passed on Nikola Jokic. Doesn't make him a bad GM
Olshey probably missed out. But he's struck gold on some as well.

neil olshey, as any other gm has made good and bad moves, but the trick is that the good ones outweigh the bad ones and if possible by a bigger margin
blazers could do better, but they also could do worse, so i guess, hes not great, but hes not bad either, hes like alright, okay
