Memphis and San Antonio both lost tonight, which IMO was the optimal outcome. Philly tried to scare us though.

Have to pull one out tomorrow.

Looks like Houston's beat some good teams so far with Dallas and Milwaukee. I wonder how Portland's bigs will do?

Was Memphis losing preferable? They lost to NO.

To me? Yes. Look at the standings. Memphis has lost three in a row. We are only two games back. San Antonio is only two games back. It is possible that we both could pass Memphis. I do not believe New Orleans will win enough to get in. We have a brutal schedule ahead of us. I'd rather us have two chances of getting in (Memphis falling below us) than just one (us being only at the head of five remaining teams).

I think that's reasonable but also it sounds like a lot to get ahead of Memphis. They have 5 games left, and Portland has 6. If Memphis wins 2 and loses 3, Portland would need to win 5 of 6 to be ahead. Or if Memphis wins 1 game, Portland would need to win 4 to be ahead. But it's possible that Memphis won't get more than 1 win.

With how terrible Portland’s defense has been, especially on the perimeter, I have a bad feeling about this game.

If the fouling is even, as it has not been, then I like the Blazers chances.

Rockets have been good. It will be a tough win to get but I see no reason to doubt our ability to win it. We just lost to Celtics and I would bet money after watching that game, we can beat Celtics in a 7 game series. Blazers had every chance to beat Celtics after playing about as bad as possible.

i expect houston to torch us from the 3-point land, just like memphis and boston did

however, this is the game where we should rely on our big men heavily, especially nurk who will dominate their small ball with his strength and skill, like he always does... also, our backcourt should shoot much better this game

thats the recipe for the win

i also expect some trash talk from nurk lol

Always gotta love when a game takes 5+ minutes before the game you intend to watch. Boston down 7+ with 29ish seconds left intend on playing it out and calling timeouts, because anything can happen. Never mind that in that case you lose 99.9999% of the time.

When a coach wastes everyones time like this they should be given a T or charged a time out.
