What are people doing these days to get out of the house on the weekend or during vacation? What's open that is fun to do in town, nearby, within a 2-3 hour drive, etc.? Give me some ideas.

Inspector Montabano (old and young) and Inspector Nardone. Great scenery, a cut above US detective stories in general, amusing, long-stemed dark eyed Italian beauties. They are in Italian, but with easy to read English subtitles. 65 inch tv and stressless recliners make these trips to SIcily and Milano an enjoyable thrust against boredom.

Hahaha, I wasn't thinking about watching TV, but okay. Watched Hanna last week. This Spring/Summer we watched Last Kingdom and Vikings. Both were decent shows. Last Kingdom was probably a bit better than Vikings.

The movie “Hanne” that the show is based on was pretty entertaining. Kinda Jason Bourne meets little kid...

Since I am a fan of the outdoors I am going to have to disagree with you although I don't actually live in Utah. I am curious what about it don't you like?

We rented a beach house for two weeks, relocated the "bubble family" (wife, kid, my parents) to the beach. Took half of it off, half of it working remote.. We're 50 yards from the beach and drinks on the deck start at 4pm sharp.

Kiddo is getting quality grandma & grandpa time... it's been good. Today is the last day (They are out playing soccer, I am finishing up dinner).

If you have been pretty locked down like us, it's worth renting a place for a week or two (if you can) just to get the change of scenery. We just packed up all of the groceries we needed, and only went to the store when we ran out of diet coke ;)
