Don't ruin our tank by doing something unhelpful, like losing to us. Portland has probably got this in the bag.

Portland tends to play down to opponents so nothing would surprise me tonight.

A win would be nice

This has got to be a tiresome roadtrip for the Raptors. It's hard to understand how a team that was 2nd in the East has become so bad due to replacing Gasol and Ibaka (neither of whom were very good last season) with Baynes and Len. Whatever happened to Nurse being the ultimate coach? They have some nice complimentary guys in OG and Siakam but they are now paid like they were first options. I've seen people propose McCollum and assets for Siakam but at least this year CJ, who has clearly improved, is a much better player than Pascal who has regressed. I like FVV as a third guard but I wouldn't want to be the team that pays him that contract. I swear I've never seen a guy get blocked so often.

The Blazers haven't exactly come out of the gun firing either... both teams have been underwhelming, seems like these weird circumstances have been tough for vet-led teams.

TOR overachieved last year due to amazing chemistry and good coaching. They showed their true talent level in the playoffs. That team was never as good as they showed in the regular season.

Now they have a high tier #3 / low tier #2 option in Pascal making MAX money and a elite 6th man / elite 4th option in FVV paid a ton as well. Throw in a utility guy like OG getting 18M (And due to potential that was a move they had to make, but its risky because he can easily just end up a great role player). They sorta had to make these moves so close to a ring season, but the risk is real and to me it looks like treadmill may be in their future. But, in the end, they are moves you make after a ring season and just having a ring season is something us Blazers fans can only dream of, so I cant dig on their future right now with such a great, recent past.

Isn't that the case for most of the teams this year?

Nurkic seems uninspired so far. Now Kanter is in, hopefully that will be better

Nurkic has a hurt quad (contusion) so I guess that's why he wasnt doing much.

I want to like Melo and be happy to see him play, but for every thing he does good it seems like there are more things he does that arent. He has had a few nice highlights so far this game though.

I agree but this complaining about every call by the players is borderline unwatchable. I mean dame is complaining on plays where he barely gets a bump it’s ridiculous. It’s been a little bit since I didn’t enjoy watching blazers games but this season has been a struggle to tune in.

Dame needs to learn to pass the ball sometimes in those crunch time situations. He forces it way to often and comes up empty.

But jumping into and come down on a player is the most obvious call.

Great game by Melo tonight. He was grabbing boards, getting steals, and knocking down clutch shots. It was interesting seeing stotts draw up that play up for Melo to post up fvv. Huge shot. It also proved stotts can draw up plays, and be effective. It's just crazy to me that he doesn't do it more. On the other hand, not calling a time out with CJ worked out well too so idk. Exciting game down the stretch, good defense. Hopefully this continues.

A lot of positives like CJ continuing to play great, Trent Jr having good moments, Giles being positive in key minutes, Kanter continuing to be very efficient, and Melo having a great finish to the game.

Some things that are concerning as well like Nurkic not playing well (maybe due to quad contusion), Covington and Jones jr being 1-10 from 3 combined, Melo having some poor moments outside of the 4th quarter, and while Hood seems to be playing smart, he just seems slow so far.

Great to see 3 wins in a row! They are a lot more fun to watch than last year's regular season games.
