You know it's funny. I had the game on in the background on Monday, didn't watch a single minute of it. Not sure I'm even interested in doing that today. Thank god baseball is around the corner, I just lack any excitement when it comes to the Blazers at this point.

Games without real live human beings in attendance feel a lot like scrimmages and I feel some players really need the fans to get going.

Yea... I'm kind of tired of the stagnant roster as well. I had higher hopes this year, but we're forgoing playing time for guys who can still make leaps in favor of the corpses of Rodney Hood and Carmelo Anthony. The team has felt fairly rudderless for a while stuck in the no-man's land of trying to decide whether it wants to be competitive now, or develop for the future.

I like to watch the game while listening to a podcast.....

Ugh, Hood has been utter garbage this year. At least Melo gets hot every once in awhile. He's shooting an abysmal 21/23. Hopefully he gets back into the swing of things.

Compounding on the offensive issues for both, is that they provide almost nothing defensively. There may be moments here or there, but overall neither has been even neutral on the defensive end. I understand that Melo just doesn't have the athleticism or know-how on defense to not be a sieve at this point, and I hold out hope that Hood can regain some of what he was, but I can't see a reason to play Hood over over GTJ or Little. At least those 2 are high energy scrappers.

I'm completely okay with giving Hood the money he got. I thought the Blazers got him for undermarket last year, and then did him dirty by having him play with a sore achilles. He deserved the payday IMO. However, that doesn't mean he deserves playing time if he's not earning it.

I think this is one of the more interesting Portland teams to watch in a while. They could be better than the team that got to the WCF, and they have more highlight reel players. And they have some promising young players who are fun to watch when they get playing time.

Kind of the problem for me. The Blazers trot out the corpse crew of Hood and Melo for far more minutes than they have earned to this point.

The team may be better than the WCF team on paper. However, I still think that a lot of that trip was bracket-based. In my opinion, the team hasn't appreciably improved in about 4 years. We are now 10 games into the season, and had what 4 preseason games? I don't really see a marked difference between this team and the Blazers of 2017-19. They are playing like the 1st/2nd round fodder they've been for years now. Maybe that will change, but this team has a long way to go, and a lot of guys who need to play significantly better to become more than that. I am more and more dubious that there are many guys on the team who are getting regular playing time are capable of improving to a significance that changes the trajectory of the team.

Why does Nurk suck so bad at finishing?

It's hard to imagine Carmelo working out as a net positive. He isn't terrible, but to compete with the best teams, I think they will need someone better. Although if Portland does win a championship somehow with Carmelo as a main rotation guy that would add something extra.

I could see Hood being a reasonable investment if in a few months he will be playing at a high level. But if he's going to keep playing around how he has been this season then yeah he really shouldn't be playing.

I think Little could be a big piece, like how Trent Jr was last season. Or rather, if he did play that well that would help the blazers a lot. And he has shown some defense and shooting ability so it isn't impossible.

I listened to a podcast were they made the point that after 20 games we may see more lineup experiments because that will give a big enough sample to know what does work and what doesn't with what's been tried.

Giving up 43 **** pts in the 1st quarter, Nurk and Kanter missing and point blank. Covington taking the ball out on a 1-0 fast break....smh

I'm just on boxscores... but Carmelo is -20 in 10 minutes? At what point do the Blazers stop the madness? How long does he need to bleed leads before they understand that his "legacy" isn't worth wasting a year of competitive play and development?
