Simons is going to compete in the dunk contest. RoCo will compete in skills competition.

And, of course, Dame in the main event.

So you don't need skills to compete in the skills contest? It's really too bad all 3 don't just stay home and rest up for the grueling second half of the season. I don't think any of them will fare all that well in the competition, other than Lillard in the All Star game.

My only minor hope is that Simons gets some rep for his dunking so when he goes up in a game the refs are more likely to blow the whistle knowing what he is capable of.

But that is extremely wishful thinking lol

The only event that's any good is the 3pt shooting contest. Maybe I will try to watch the dunk contest since Simons is in it. I could try using the mute button. Maybe I can watch if I don't listen. It's been unbearable since Dwight Howard put on a superman costume and his failed dunk attempt was declared the greatest thing ever.

"Which one of you is coming in second?"

I think Dame is in the 3Pt contest too?

He hasn't done so well there in the past. He is elite at creating looks for himself and has crazy range, as opposed to elite spot-up shooters like Joe Harris and Klay.

Lillard can shoot them quicker one at a time when the popcorn is popping. Those bigger guys have an advantage firing off 5 racks against no defense.

NBA should replace Lillard with GTJ.

Simons comes off as such a good kid. He is limited to a 3pt shooter now but I hope he makes it. He is the type of person you want to root for.

I want to see if Simons can actually kiss the rim. Also good for him for winning

The last few minutes of the first half of the ASG were awesome. I loved the PG-to-PG alley-oops and the Dame/Steph back-to-back halfcourt makes.

Ant winning the dunk contest was cool, though it wasn't a great dunk contest, IMO.

Wow Lillard with the half court shot to end the all star game

Simons had some very impressive dunks, well deserved. It blows my mind he can do these types of dunks since we don't really view him as a big time dunker.

Lillard with the last 9 points for Team LeBron to seal the win. Looking at the highlights on ESPN and everything is Steph Curry, yet Lillard shot just as well as him and from further out and had the first alley oop of the 3 point guards, yet all they talked about was the Chris Paul and Steph Curry alley oops. WHATEVER!!! It's kind of reminiscent of the Jordan/Drexler era. If not for Curry, everyone would be talking about Drexler, err... Lillard. At least we get to appreciate him here with the Blazers. Great showing from Lillard though. He got the opportunity to just unload and take some ridiculous shots. Some looked really bad, but more than not, they looked really good and he sealed the game which Curry could not do (clank) and from midcourt.

Way to go Simons, although it was a weak group. Jones Jr would have killed it!!! Covington, kind of silly that he even participated. What a waste of a few days for 30 seconds of losing (D'OH!!!).

RoCo in the skills challenge was always a head scratcher. He can barely dribble and is a poor passer. I think the league wanted to get as many players from HBC's involved and thats why he got an invite.

That does make sense actually. I like his method of dribbing on the full court down and back for a layup and then a 3 point shot.... just toss the ball way out in front of you and run to it.

I watched the highlights. Lillard made every shot. He was perfect.
