BC - you better keep that previous emergency comeback GLB available just in case Hailee doesnt get it done.

What a strange game in comparison to the last one. Zero assists from Dame and only 10 as a team, and Portland still looks likely to win!

Solid win....I wondered what a bad shooting night for Gary would look like. Couldn't buy a bucket tonight.

This game was won on the defensive end overall, if we let Pel's play their inside game we likely lose this game by 10-20. Offense was flowing in the first half mostly, but it really dropped off in the second half but the Blazers were really taking the Defensive end seriously for the most part.

I like what I am seeing from this team on the defensive end near the end of the 1st Pelican's game and almost for the entirety in tonight's game.

CJ is also a huge help to the bench unit he gives them another powerful offensive threat when Lillard sits.

I forgot how it feels to not have the team execute on offense like a chicken with its head cut off when Dame sits. CJ isnt John Stockton, but compared to the guys we have been trotting out when Dame sits he might as well be. His gravity helps compensate for some natural playmaking shortcomings.

Feeling good about this team right now.

Eric Bledsoe, on Dame putting up 50 wrote:Dame put up something like fifteen in the first quarter. So I go over to Gundy and am like, "You know we swept them a few years back? And we did it by trapping Dame early and doubling him." And Gundy did his usual "don't tell me how to coach" rant. So we're cruisin', up double digits pretty much the whole game. Then it's midway through the fourth quarter and Dame puts up 8 quick points. So I'm like, "Stan! Carmelo is putting up bricks every time he touches the ball. Are you sure you want Dame to be the one trying to make a comeback?" and Stan goes "keep running your mouth and I'll make sure your ass is traded to Sacramento!" He was proud of that line. Probably spent more time coming up with it than a plan to stop Dame. So then Dame goes for 50, completes the comeback, and we lose. But I ain't even mad. We were Gundy'd.

edit: wrong thread. oops.

Reporter: Why don't you ever pass to the cutter?
Carmelo: I think there has been enough blood shed in my lifetime.

Aside from a couple of games, that guy has had nothing but bad shooting games for the past month. I was actually in favor of giving Simon's an opportunity last night.

It was ugly, but winning UGLY is PROGRESS. First half of the season if Portland shoots like this it's a 20 point loss.
