This is the moment in this game that the winner will step forward. Whichever team executes on offense and works the hardest on defense will win.

I don't care how good your shooters are. Nothing beats getting to the rim in this situation.

Not losing feels a lot better than losing. Blazers have to get a lot better. We need Nurkic to play better. We are never going to be good without Lillard. Having Collins back would help. It would be nice if someone would ask Stotts if Collins has a chance to make it back this year.

+1 for the Collins part. I've always quietly hoped he can get healthy, like around this time, and be decent come playoff time. He was supposed to be our starting PF and along with a healthy Nurkic, an anchor for the defense. He's always been like an afterthought with Portland's tough press core.

i’d love to have a healthy collins but he’s got 4 years of almost no health so i’m not gonna hold my breath. Bringing him back for the qo may be sensible for both parties

Zach has got to get onto the court before he gets a qualifying offer. The rest of the league will want to see
him on the court before he gets any meaningful offers.

I think there are interviews happening soon with players including Zach so we might have an update soon. He wasn't wearing a boot a few games ago so there's progress. I could see him doing full practices this season, but not sure if he will actually play in games when factoring in rust and time to get in shape.

Nice, gritty win! Wild to have back-to-back 1-point games.

Solid win against a Spurs team that throughout most of the game I felt played better, CJ once again with a dominating performance with Lillard out.

I swear if he played as well as he does every game as he does with Lillard out he easily would be an all-star. I really would love to see how jaw dropping his numbers are in the 20ish or so games he has played without Lillard over the past couple years.

If the game were played with 2 basketballs, both Lillard and CJ could have inflated numbers. Lillard and CJ are both scoring combo guards. Anytime a scorer has the ball and a greenlight, he is going to have better scoring numbers. CJ doesn't play better without Lillard. His opportunity is different without Lillard.
