It's a battle between the defenses.

These refs are really trying to ruin a good competitive game aren’t they

Great D to close out the game, huge win!
Idk what to think about the remaining schedule. There’s 4 “winnable” games, 4 against superior opponents by record (i’m gonna include LA in this bunch even though we could argue that as being pretty winnable too lately). I’d say it looks better than a week ago and it certainly does on paper but knowing this team’s M.O. those easy games are what worries me more than the hard ones as i think we can at least hold our own and win 2 games we “shouldn’t” the way we are playing. But the million dollar question may be if we win 3 of the games we “should.”
It’d be mighty FINE to avoid the play in which imo is really just a way to give a team that shouldn’t be in the playoffs a shot. The nba already gives 16 teams a playoff spot did we really need to expand the field more before the next league expansion?

Watching the end of this 4th I was blown away at how little respect Lillard was getting tries to take two charges no call then gets a bull charge call against him.
Refs really going out of their way to help the opponent lately.
I will say though the trio of Powell+Lillard+CJ has been dynamite in this game they absolutely lit it up.
Powell+Lillard+CJ:
82 Pts
28-53 FG
11-23 3P
15-17 FT
13 Rebs
21 Asts
2 Stls
3 Blks
Every starter with a + in this game Nurkic leading all Blazers with a dominant +24. He was a big time difference maker also, if this team is going to upset a higher seeded team this is the type of performances we will need.

It's really too bad they pissed away those 5 games.

Always love Blazers/Celtics games this season. Both teams underachieving. Both teams likeable. No defense. Winner usually comes down to who makes freak athletic highlight reel shots.

Anytime you can hold a team to 71 points, you've got to take that.
Oh, wait. It's half time?

The refs were horrible, but they didn't really favor either team. Just a ton of blown calls on both sides.

Blazers would be unlikely to reproduce his production for a veteran's minimum contract.
Crazy how the team would be better and salary cap flexible with a full season of Melo, RHJ, and Rivers on minimum contracts versus DJJ.

In before the Blazers end up in a play-in game with Curry's Warriors and somehow continue the losing to them streak.

I'm fine with DJJ. Unfortunately, he's going to opt out and is the free agent we are most likely to lose. We have full bird rights to resign Powell. There is no reason to believe we are going to lose him. We have early bird rights to resign Kanter. DJJ is our only free agent that might get an offer greater than we can offer.

I don't want Rivers. I don't care if RHJ is back. I would like Giles back. I would like Collins back on an extension, but he's to smart to sign a contract before maximizing his value. Collins will sign his QO and play for UFA in 2022.
