Vaccination section
There is talk of Portland going the way of the Lakers/Clippers in offering up a vaccination section
for game 3. It's an idea that is really being pushed by Dame/CJ and the Blazers seem to be lobbying
the Governor's office and the OHA for approval for apparently Multnomah County's vaccination rate
is at 65% and is scheduled to drop to a lower risk rate. This would allow the team to sell to perhaps
50% or close to 10k. A real loud MC would be a welcome change in a very strange season where most
of the games were played in an empty arena.

Re: Vaccination section
Yeah. I don't get occupancy restrictions at this point. The vaccine is readily available, we know who is at risk, how COVID-19 transmits, etc. If you're vaxxed, the CDC says there's nearly zero risk. And if you aren't and you willingly get yourself into high risk situations, that's on you.

The government wants control. In this case, they are seeking to give or withhold privileges based on compliance with orders that so far can't be mandated by law.

Re: Vaccination section
It doesn't matter for I'm a season ticket holder and can't buy seats because likely the ticket scalpers
bought all of the seats in under an hour. Likely the team should have a plan in place where all
season ticket holders have an opportunity to buy a playoff game. If that means some rationing plan,
so be it.
As far as the vaccination section goes, the Blazers are a private business that negotiated with the
local government entity for the number of fans to attend. The Jazz which is in a very conservative
state has the same rules in place to increase attendance to 6700 fans while the Knicks are going to
play in front of 15k fans. There were 11k fans at the first playoff game with the Suns

I am really shocked that season ticket holders were not given 1st priority on playoff tickets. Obviously all the tickets are going to sell out, so it seems like the blazers wouldn't really care who bought them. Why wouldn't they reward their most loyal fans?

It's incredibly stupid unless ticket availability is completely disconnected from the seat locations ticket holders own. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I was for 20 years. I didn't want any ticket, I wanted my seats. When we moved from the old building to the new one, I wanted seats in the same location relative to the court that I had in the old building. I'm pretty sure there are restrictions that prevent Blazers from offering most season ticket holders the tickets they have rights to.

My boss (CEO) told me the same thing. No priority on tickets even though the Blazer have held his money for his season tickets all freaking year. I think that is a pretty bad look by the Blazers...

Re: Vaccination section
There was supposed to be a priority access to the tickets but I came online 30 minutes after the access
started and the tickets were long gone.
Its unclear how many tickets with the addition of the vaccination sections were made available and my
ticket rep refuses to answer my messages. I took a peek at craigslist and there are ticket listings in a
vaccination section going for $600. Any leftover tickets for the general public will likely see a huge
markup

Re: Vaccination section
Games 3-4 are both sold out for as many seats the Blazers can sell. I think there will be around 7500 fans
in attendance. I ended up buying seats for a potential game six which I think will either be an elimination
game, one way or another.

Well game 6 has to be an elimination game for at least one team. The only split that works on game 6 is a 3-2 split for one team or the other, because if one team was 4-1 going into game 6 they would have already won.

Re: Vaccination section
Tickets are expensive for the lowest priced seats are $50 with increases to $72, 86 and so on. Next
weeks game will be the first game I've seen in person since February 2020.
Don't know what happened with the season ticket pre-sale but those seats sold out in under an
hour for I signed on 30 minutes after it started (I've been a season ticket holder since 2012) and
had to buy my seats to a potential game six with the public sales.
I'm hopeful the team will be competitive but would not be upset if they lost in 7 for there is no
way they will be competitive with the Lakers for the winner of the series will be a heavy underdog
as the Lakers get healthy.
