Well, that's not very confidence inspiring.

Fire the mofo. Neil Olshey is such a smooth and cunning guy that I have no doubt he has the Vulcan's in his thrall. Anybody want to start a petition to get rid of that POS?

I think Dame gives the team one more chance under a new coach. But if things are still same-ol/same-ol by like December/Januaray of next season, I think he may start to tell management to look for a deal. If not then, definitely next offseason if it's another 1st Round loss or missing the playoffs altogether.

Right now, I'm in favor of giving Lillard another year to prove he can win. Each year it will be more expensive until eventually it isn't worth the expense. At this point, it's a year to year decision with no long-term visibility.

Another question is non-financial expense. How much do we commit to short-term development at the expense of long-term development? We already gave up last year's and this year's 1st round picks. I wouldn't trade anymore 1st round picks. Lillard and CJ have maybe 2 more seasons, at the most. Olshey has to start thinking about what's after Lillard and CJ.

Edit: Mostly, because the expense is paid by someone else. Thanks Jody

Olshey wants from the coaching candidates how this present squad or with the same major pieces maintain their high quality offensive performance while becoming at least a top 15 defense. My quick answer is make sue Nurkic shows up mentally and physically in game shape from day 1 and the Collins returns to full time duty reflecting Olshey's dreams about him. Oh, that the candidate doesn't screw up what has been working pretty long offensively, by initiating a playstyle not congruent with players' respective talents. Might help if Covington doesn't take shooting walkabouts for whole months.

Speaking of arson, is Olshey like the arsonist being the firefighter?

Blazers President Neil Olshey Really Wants You To Know That None Of This Is His Fault:

Trail Blazers GM Neil Olshey’s tired act lands with a thud Jody Allen shouldn’t ignore:

I feel kind of dirty linking canzano, but it's blind squirrel time.

I would like to request that no one clicks on the Canzano link so as not to give the Oregonian any additional traffic to his terrible posts/articles - even if you agree with his sentiment.

that's fine...the headline summarizes pretty well. It was one of his better columns but granted, that bar couldn't be lower

keep in mind something watching the snake-oil

for 9 years Oshey talked about Stotts in glowing terms. How they had a great relationship and considered Stotts a friend. How Stotts was a quality coach and person

so then, Olshey shows up at that new conference knowing full well that many people blame him for a lot of the Blazer problems. Did he have the character to man-up and shoulder some accountability....any accountablity....for anything? Of course not because he's a snake. He spent that 35 minutes, stabbing Stotts in the back (when he wasn't sneering at the media), then throwing Stotts under the bus, then driving back and forth over the body

and that's the guy in charge of convincing Dame not to demand a trade. God help us

Olshey established himself in this interview as a Pecksniffian.

Olshey is going to be here when Lillard is gone. That's the breaks. Athleticism doesn't last forever. If you are really going to burn down the Moda Center, maybe you shouldn't announce it here.

When you have no facts to back a bankrupt argument, use quotes from Clownzano and Twitter experts.

Joining the dog pile. Throwing Stotts under the bus is not only totally classless but entirely delusional. Olshey's only job at this point in time is keeping his job.

If Olshey was contrite and showed he understood the failings of this team then maybe I could see giving him one last little shot.. but this just proves he doesn't know what the problem is and is personally incapable of addressing it.
