2022 draft/prospects thread

Post#1 » by Case2012 » Sat Feb 5, 2022 6:13 am

With the tank in full effect, I need something to distract myself from the fubar season we're having... My hope is we use the pick to grab a second star, but for the sake of discussion...

I haven't spent too much time scouting this year, but Jabari Smith and Jaden Ivey look like they have the biggest star potential and ability to contribute day 1.

Who do you like in the lottery?

Btw I'd like to encourage posters to contribute scouting and highlight videos, so everyone in the thread can discuss prospects with more depth.

This will depend on how long you are willing to wait for the player to develop. One would think the pick will
be a front court player but with the current front office, the BPA might be a guard.

As long as I can remember, The Blazers have NEVER been a team to tank, and to suggest that we are in some kind of full tank-mode seems a bit premature considering we still have Dame, CJ and Nurkic. I'm not even certain we will have our FRP for 2022 for a few more days.

Cool with the thread though... never too early to talk draft. I'll be back in 6 days.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure yesterday's talent dump was a strong sign that the rebuild has begun. Dealing CJ comes next. Time to get this team ready for sale!

Jabari and Chet are the needle movers IMO.

Still bet we can’t even tank right, expect a 8-10 pick.

If Chauncey knew what was best for him, he would stop playing McCollum 38 minutes a night.

It would be a dream if we drafted any of Holmgren, Banchero, or Jabari Smith.

Keegan Murray is a big sleeper for me.

I know it's early but I'll just call it now... DUKE will win the NCAA Tourney.

And with that, at first early glance, there were 3-4 players on that team that I would love to have. Also, the Kentucky C. He's a big boy, and skilled. Watched some of the USC / ARIZ game today as well. There were a few guys in that game too worth keeping an eye on.

I like this kid. Legit 2 way player probably going in the 5-10 range where we’re currently at. Another 2 guard, but legit 6’5 and looks like he’s got a decent wingspan.

I like him a lot too.

Depends how the lottery shakes out.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

I like Murray, but his lack of foot speed for being 6’8 is a little concerning to me on the defensive end. He looks like he could be a decent stretch 4 and rim roller on pick and rolls.

Keegan reminds me of Warren a bit. But I think he can be better and those block numbers are on another level.

Way too early but would a Duren+Murray draft make you happy going forward?

The guards on Jabari Smith's team are terrible at getting him the ball.

I have a weird feeling we’re gonna snag the first pick, especially with the new odds.

The ping pong balls always seem to bounce in a teams favor when they trade their star players too…

What could we get for the first pick in the draft?

IDK if a guy would be available worth moving Jabari or Chet for.

Gobert was just as skinny coming in and didn’t have the offensive ability and footwork Chet has, but yeah, there’s still no way I would draft him. He screams foot injury to me.

It would be the blazers luck we end up with the number one pick and there’s not a clear cut future all star like there is in most drafts.
