I particularly love the fact that new Orleans picks right behind us. This is some straight up BS. The whole season tanking for this. There's no way Murray falls to 7. I'm destroyed right now. I really really like Mathurin too but damn. I think you need to trade down or trade the pick for a win now guy. **** This sucks. I hate it here.

I really dislike 7th, simply because there was an obvious top 6 for me.

Also, I had Murray at #6, and Indianna are very likely to grab him you'd think.

I'm not much of an advocate for trading down, but I'd consider trading down if all of Smith, Banchero, Chet, Ivey, Sharpe, Murray are all off the board.

Had Portland finished behind Indiana in the standings, they would have landed at 6 instead of 7, so there isn't a huge difference there. If anything, we should have hoped for that 4-game streak to be an 8-game streak.

I know it's disappointing that Portland didn't land in the top 4 or keep their #6 spot, but finishing at #7 was actually the median outcome: there was only a 45.8% chance that Portland would vault into the top 4 or stay at #6. Portland essentially lost a coin flip that was slightly biased against them anyway.

To be fair, we literally had the worst record in the team by far towards the end.

We started tanking from 8th place. I have no qualms with out tanking efforts.

Frankly with how blatantly we tanked we didn't deserve to move up. Of course other teams did the same and maybe got rewarded but getting pick 7 was the most likely outcome and not anything we should have been unprepared for.

You can't say it was karma when the Thunder put out those lineups to end the year and got second. That's just silly. Especially since the Kings were not trying to win in the last eight games. They started sitting Sabonis with nine games to go. They only won in their last nine games because they played Houston twice, Orlando, Indiana and then a Suns team for the final game that sat everyone except Mikal BRidges who played six minutes.

I was ok at 6, there was a still a slim chance Murray could slide there, but there's no way he gets to 7. We couldn't even tank right. The blazers always lose, everything.

Take Mathurin at 7, trade down for 13 and 15, or trade for a borderline star with the pick (must unlikely scenario imo). Hurray!!!

Also, hindsight is a wonderful thing, right. Paul George getting Covid changed things dramatically.

Also, Spurs very well could have beaten New Orleans if Dejounte Murray hadn't been destroyed by illness for several weeks leading to the play-in game.

I'm not sure what thread it was in, but back in November I was calling for sitting Dame, and tanking the season. (I'm sure I can find it.) They waited 2 and a half months to enact that plan which was obvious to just about everyone. We couldn't even tank properly. It's embarrassing how poorly this franchise is owned and operated.
