Tank is going full steam ahead now we have an identical record to the Knicks and are only one half a game ahead of the Pelicans.
Go Tank Go!

OT but how amazing it is to see the Pelicans beating the Lakers by 30 at the end of 3 in LA

Tbh as much as I despise the Lakers, I really dislike that.
I want Portland to get the Pelicans draft pick, as the value of that draft pick drops off a cliff if they make the play-ins this year. So I'm fighting against my common instinct and rooting for the Lakers to sort their mess out.
Hopefully AD can be healthy by the Play-ins.

I'm skeptical the Pelicans pick will not transfer for Ingram and CJ aren't really enough without Zion. They likely will
make the play-ins which means Portland's own pick will almost certainly be higher. They will be the nine seed and
will lose to the Clippers. Lakers may yet get things straightened out and get the 9 seed.
I'm happy for CJ who was so maligned by everyone on Real GM. If they had Zion, they'd be a real dangerous team
if they made the playoffs.

Even if we miss out on the Pelicans pick doesn't it just have a chance to transfer next year?
I realize they might have a better record next year, but even in the worst case it's not the end of the world. Even if the Pelicans end up with the 7th worst record or something they don't have a tremendously high chance at a top 4 pick. Looks like the pick is protected 1-4 and 15-30 so it has to be in the 5-14 range.

I think there's also a chance we can catch the teams who are currently sitting in the early 20s area. They just need a few wins.

No, if the Blazers don’t get it this year, it transfers to a Milwaukie first round pick of some sort - and if for some reasons that one doesn’t transfer, all pick obligations of NOP to POR will be extinguished. So they really need to get it this year if they want it.

CJ has been killing it with the Pelicans. 28ppg over his seven games there. Respect to him.

I think we should sign eubanks for the remainder of the year and perhaps even bring him back next year. He’s not starter material but he looks like a role player

Happy for CJ. I've long said (and was laughed at) on the GB that CJ will be amazing on another team where he doesn't have to share lead guard duties with Dame.
He still would have been a fantastic fit next to Embiid and was really disrespected when their fans were like "he's not much better than Seth Curry"...

He's no Harden sure, so it worked out for them, but still would have made them better.

I am big on Eubanks. Unless Watford can develop a 3 and become a stretch C (Giving us a shakeup look vs Nurkic), I think I would prefer Eubanks.
I guess Watford has more potential due to age but Eubanks is just the type of try hard goon I like as C3 (I say C3 b/c neither are really backup caliber IMO)

It's cool they got Harden, and you obviously take Harden over CJ, but the idea that Morey was somehow some kind of mastermind because he (as presented by some people on the trade board/some Philly fans)..
got lucky that Irving is inexplicably hurting his team because of his beliefs and refusal to get a vaccine during a global pandemic, cannot play half the games, pissed off and infuriated his teammates, which made James Harden tank himself while playing for a potentially fantastic three man unit and demand to get traded six months after the rumblings began of Simmons wanting out of Philly and four months after the season started, is frankly absurd.

Watford however is three years younger and Eubanks is what he is. Neither player really matters
at this point but I'd take the unknown in Watford who should get better.
Pelicans might be a real tough team if they ever get Zion back. Makes you wonder if Dame is jealous
how well CJ is fitting with the Pelicans and how well he would fit elsewhere alongside another superstar
player. It can't be appealing for Dame to see Portland openly tanking for a lottery pick and losing 15-18
more games to finish the season.
