Portland +19.5; how often do you see a line like that?

If anything, take Utah and give 19.5 points

While I want losses I won't even be mad if this young team filled with near G-League talent can actually upset a good team.

No Nurkic, Lillard, and Simons, no problem!

I just took a look at the box score and was right earlier about Utah covering the 19.5 point spread.

Man this roster is awful enough to sneak into the top 4 on paper. But is there enough time? Doubtful.. 6 spot please to sneak up the lotto!

Hey, at least we have a shot at it. If they insisted on playing Anfernee and Nurkic was ready to play this team might actually win above .500 pretty easily with how weak these last 17 teams we face as the season closes.

Over the last 17 games we have the weakest schedule by a landslide only 3 games remain in that 17 stretch that are against what tankathon considers good teams. We need a G-league roster just to actually have a shot at losing a good chunk of those games.

Let's not get so excited about Portland's remaining schedule for that March 30 game against the
Pelicans will be an emotional game.

It will be interesting to see how many of these 17 remaining games will be favored in. Portland
might be embarrassing themselves in hard they are trying to tank for that team that played in
Utah tonight might challenge league records for most losses in an NBA season.

I really don't care how many games they lose to close the season, it's obvious they are pushing for losses when basically our best 6 or 7 players are currently injured.

In a season where the Blazers are competing, when that is the norm I will root for wins and be upset with losses this is not that. We have many seasons where the Blazers are busting their ass trying to win games I am fine with one like this. This also is unlikely to be a multi-year tank thing if Dame comes back hungry and healthy next season I'm sure he is going to turn some heads.

**** the Warriors pulled the same **** a few years ago, they intentionally shut guys down and went out of their way to lose games. **** they were even more blatant about it than the Blazers really pushing for losses early on and having Steph intentionally take his time coming back.

Would they have the nerve to bring back Dame, Nurk, and Simons for the NO game?

This might be the worst team in NBA history.

It's an interesting debate on what the Blazers should do with that NO game. On one hand, you want them to lose because you want to keep them just out of reach of the play-in game. On the other hand, winning puts you further back of the Top 6 and with the teams ahead of Portland in the lottery, one more in the win column could be hard to overcome with how bad Indy, Sac and San Antonio have looked post-AS.

Tough call, but I think I'd rather let NO get the win if I'm Portland. Even in the best case scenario of the Blazers getting NO's pick, they could always end up moving up and then Portland misses out on the pick. Or maybe regardless of NO losing to POR, they still make the play-in game by getting hot to end the season - then Portland still misses out on the NO pick and hurts their own pick position. The only pick POR has total control over is their own, so best just to prioritize that one.
