For those rooting for Ayton...or a rebuild this is dangerously close to good news.

Nurkic is kind of a twitter troll so this might just be him trolling

if I was to read anything into it I'd hope it was a sign that the Blazers are not offering Nurkic as much money as he hoped and his agent wanted

I tend to agree with Wiz here. Nurk is a twitter troll and he’s kinda moody…. Don’t forget his comments after the Denver playoff series loss. So this can easily just be him trolling or being passive aggressive about the Ayton rumors (of which Dame has commented on in favor of online). So who knows?

If he wants to walk and Daniels is not there at 7, Portland could simply draft one of Williams/Duren
to replace him.

Would love it if we could acquire Miles Turner somehow and let nurkic walk.

Depends on the price. With where they're at I bet number 7 would entice them

I think the Pacers interest in trading Turner ended with the Sabonis trade.

Turner wants a bigger role, he's complained publicly about his situation there a few times and he's an expiring deal so you never know. I keep going back to the 7 for 13/15 deal with Charlotte. 15, Milwaukee pick, and Bledsoe for Turner. 13, Keon, tpe for Grant. Indy gets the second pick for guaranteeing bledsoe for 16 million.

I think that was due to the split time he has having to play with because of Sabonis. Now that Sabas is in Sac, the team has seemingly committed to him as their main starting C so don’t think it’ll be a big issue going forward as it was before

I’d do that in a heart beat, especially if there was a way to use Little, Hart, and Mil 1st for a small forward upgrade like OG

Reports are out that Ayton has likely played his final game as a Sun and will be elsewhere this summer.

Really not big on using assets on Ayton when Nurkic is 80% the player and will be way, way cheaper.

I feel that UTA / PHX may do a Ayton for Gobert S&T.

Isn't money a big part of PHX not wanting to sign Ayton whose Max starts I believe in low 30 mil range, isn't Gobert paid over 38 mil per for next and going up tp 46 mil in 2026 - can't fathom Sarver doing that.

Nurkić + #7 for Gobert would solve some of the defensive issues associated with a Dame/Simons back court.

And leave us with no real assets to shore up the forward positions.

The thing that bugs me about Ayton is that Phoenix is in WIN NOW mode and they are willing to let him walk? Something is not right about that.

Centers are easy to come by, this shouldn't be a priority. Some rim protection would be nice, but switchable forwards that can guard the perimeter and shoot have had a much bigger impact on today's game. Give me Eason, Sochan or even Daniels over Ayton. Obviously we were in full tank mode but Eubanks looked better than Nurkic at times. We could probably get Drummond for the vet minimum and he'd have the same impact as Nurkic. We should focus our cap space on the wings.

rudy gobert is a dpoy in the regular season, not so much in the playoffs, where he doesnt make a difference on the defensive end of the floor and he has no game on offense... is he really an ungrade over nurk, if were talking about contending

maybe its not all on gobert, maybe utah jazz defensive scheme is not working in the playoffs, maybe he would do better in other defensive scheme on some other team, but still, you have to think about it

he has 5/205 contract, thats $41 mil per year, the most nurk can get is $18 mil per year and if nurk gets that, gobert would earn $23 mil per year more than nurk and wouldnt be better than nurk (if he plays like in utah) and on top of that, would we be able to improve our forward positions... sometimes fit matters more than the quality itself
