Wonder if Grant or Nurk will be available this night. Anyway, Pels were playing on the road last night too so I wouldn't write Blazers off just yet.

Pelicans traveled further than the Blazers last night, although they got to sleep in their own beds (presumably ).

Wish we had a healthy roster for this first meeting with Lillard against CJ. Should be fun though.

No Lillard tonight. Hes not ready for back-to-back games (sigh). No word on Nurkic, Grant, or Johnson. So much for a fun game.

I’m not sure if it’s that he’s not ready or they’re just really trying to load manage him (and the rest of the team for that matter) for this early part of the season.

Disappointing that we still won't see the Dame vs CJ matchup we all want to see. If Nurk and Grant are also sitting, this is not going to be pretty.

Yeah if we dont have Dame, Nurk or Grant then this is a bonus win, but they may have sat Nurk and Grant last night knowing Dame wouldn't be available for this one..?

I think its really smart to load manage from the beginning of the season. I hated how Stotts always seem to run our top players into the ground in the early season, playing guys 30+ minutes to eek out a win. You have to develop and trust your bench rotation and its a long long grinding season. It helps we seem both deeper and younger than we have in a long time so plenty of fresh legs.

I love watching Chauncey talk to our players on the sidelines, with Stotts it was like players getting orders from a boss with Billups its like they are learning alongside a legend. I wasnt the biggest fan of Billups hiring but so far his style of motivation and getting players to buy into their role and play unselfish basketball is winning and fun to watch but really just the respect our young players seem to show him is impressive. He really is a very good speaker and motivator.

Oh, the most important thing, first game against CJ in the wrong jersey. He is going to be super motivated to put us away in his new home and remind us what we lost but he's never seen a Blazer team with this much length and athleticism so hopefully it wont be easy.

Chauncey's demeanor on the sideline with the players and coaching the game is such a welcomed change. He gets fired up. He talks them through everything. And when he teaches them a lesson, it seems so constructive because he also always seems to be encouraging the effort t hey're putting in - even when they get stuff wrong.

I was also skeptical of the hire but he's been doing so well.

Really disappointing that the blazers are going to most likely load manage Dame from now on. It’s ridiculous having super max players play 3/4’s or 2/3rds of the season.

I just placed a large bet on the game before they announced this too. Not happy.

The article I read said hes not ready for back-to-back games. It didnt say anything about load Management. Is Lillard playing any fewer minutes per game under Billups compared to Stotts? I don't think so, but my internet is slow so I can't look it up easily.

He's playing 35 minutes a game. It's not the minutes, it's the actual amount of games he'll miss due to blazers coaching and trainer decisions that I'm worried about. It just seems like once a star player hits his thirties there's this trend of load management and I get it, the games take a toll but taking games off just as a precaution sucks. Was kawaii the one that started that?

I really hope (health permitting) we don't get used to 60 games a season from Dame. He was an ironman most of his career, it would be a shame if this became a regular thing. He could have a real chance of mvp this season if he manages to play enough games.

Apparently he wants to play. This is really lame to do to fans. Tonight had been hyped up since the schedule was released and then some trainer **** on it.

Is there something wrong with Sharpe? He hasn't played yet.

It's a miracle we're this close. We really needed dames offense. Ant is 2-9, he's gotta pick it up if we're going to stand a chance. Hart is being aggressive at least.

It's crazy how stacked NO is. If they get Wembyama, I'm gonna lose it.

Win or lose, so proud of the effort here tonight. It's just so great to see and promising for the rest of the season.
