My boy Mark Williams is in the house. Came off the bench and played well in the 1st qtr. Only his 4th NBA game appearance if I'm not mistaken. I hope Cronin sees what I see in him. He's a monster!

That was a bit concerning in the first half, but glad to see Portland turn up the jets and race to a solid win in the end.

Checking the schedule, after the next 5 games, Portland will have played 24 road games as opposed to just 15 home games. That leaves 26 home games and 17 road games afterward. Most of those home games come in Games 41-60, so there's a chance for Portland to balloon its record and if things go well, position themselves to make a nice deadline deal.

Hornets board talks a lot about trading Plumlee to make some room for Williams.

A game this team desperately needed to win, they looked pretty damn good especially for a game where Dame was struggling to score.

Take the Nurk and Eubanks 3s out of this game and the Blazers might have struggled to win. Can't depend on that to win games. Still no GP2 yet either.

I don't think Payton is going to play for us. He's most likely traded at the deadline.

Nurkic has been playing really well for most of December and if he can continue to his 3's at anything close to this rate it really adjusts how he fits this team moving forward.

His RTG's in particular have been huge this month, about on par w/ Dame for ORTG which says alot.

IMO he could be a key playoff piece to slow the other teams best perimeter scorer, which perimeter defense is a year-in-year-out issue for us.

Would Portland really dump GP2 for Wiseman?

Supposedly he’s going to play against GS, but I’m a little skeptical for some reason.

They have said GP II has been out mostly conditioning and him not feeling quite 100% yet, I will be blown away if he is out more than a few more games.

A lot of people act like he got his reasonably sized contract so now he is just done but I doubt that.

I think GP2-weeks could be playable now, but the Blazers are working on trying to fix some bigger issues, before bringing him back. Playing him now might win us a couple more game in the short term, but make the biggest issue, the Simons/Dame pairing, more difficult to figure out. Just a theory, but I feel it's going to take until next season before we have that finished building of this roster. Don't think he'll do us like Festus, but ya never know. Calling him Festus IS pretty funny though.

As for the game, really like what I saw from Mark Williams and I just want him on our team even more now. Nurkic and Grant with huge games. Always new The Beast has 30 & 15 in him against most any opponent, but getting him to play like he did in this game needs to happen with more regularity. No reason for it not to.
