That game seemed there for the taking. Edwards stepped up big time for Minny.

Yeah, that wasn't a real good effort tonight

I’m not really surprised by this stuff anymore, we’re a bad bad clutch team this year.
We have a great second half schedule at home so I think we’ll still make the playoffs but I think we need a roster shakeup at the deadline.

Pretty damn frustrated with so many winnable games slipping through the Blazers fingers lately. They are 2-5 over their last 7 games and really seem out of sorts.
Losing GP II after 1 game is really annoying, at least it wasn't a major injury this time.

It would be counterproductive to win too much before the trade deadline. Moves NEED to be made, and Cronin was clear that the roster is not done. At all. Hopefully the trade value of the players to be named soon (hopefully) are enough to make necessary, winning changes.
Lillard, Sharpe, and Grant (IMHO) are the 3 not to be traded. Simons traded only to make it a needle-moving-icing-on-the-cake, go-for-it-win-now deal.

I will be extremely skeptical of any Simons trade unless it brings a major piece here. Despite us thinking that Simons has been around a long time he is a mere 23 years old, nowhere near his prime and the fact that the Blazers were trying to win it slowed his early development a bit.
I think Simons has the potential to be a damn good player, it might take a few years though.

If Lillard, Sharpe, Grant and Ant are not being traded then we dont have much to play with.
Nurkic isnt commanding much - really dont see a market for him (Most teams seem to have the C spot locked down IMO).
Hart is a EC and only valuable to teams w/ PO aspirations - I think he could pull a late FRP and a EC, but is that the direction we want to go?
GP2 is coming off injury and wont have much value until he plays a bit, and even then moving a guy you just signed after like 15 healthy games (At best) is a bad look IMO.
Nas is also coming off injury and wasnt doing much before he went out, dont see him having much value (Like, Nas for Mason Plumlee's EC level value)
Winslow doesnt make enough to really move
Its really Ant or nothing if we want a shakeup IMO, and the FO isnt cashing in on him this quick after paying.

Yeah, I dont see a big roster shakeup mid-season. Good teams generally avoid doing too much at the TD except for small tweaks because you have fewer options and flexibility and generally have to pay more unless you get really lucky from another team. Better to plan on big changes over summers and just go fishing at the TD to see if anyone is offering up sweetheart deals. Who knows maybe catch another team slipping and we benefit by having the right pieces at the right team but if we go into it as the team needing to make a move then others will be the ones waiting for us to slip and end up overpaying.
My 2 main goals/needs to address at the TD:
#1 - find us another high quality rebounder. A forward like Portis or Vanderbuilt would be nice. Jabari looks like he could eventually be a big plus in that category but he is still too raw in other regards.
#2 - Get us another shooter with some size. We need better spacing out there, a big who is a credible threat to space the floor. Nurkic is being forced to take those shots because we need that type of player.
Unfortunately we dont have much to work with on those. We have a bunch of roster spots wasted on pretty meh players, Johnson/Little/Winslow/Watford/Brown that would be nice to consolidate into a couple of actually useful players.
