Should add a poll.

Who has the better game, Dame or CJ?

I don't know how wise it is, but it was valiant for Simons to return. I hope his ankle is ok. :(

9th worst right now. 20% chance at top 4. Not bad.

This draft is stacked too.

What an absolute gem of a loss for the stealth tank. This was, for me, one of our tossups. It was against someone else trying to get into the playoffs. It was a -home- game.

I don't know why they thought they should let Simons try to return tonight. Just asking for trouble. And since he hurt his ankle area AGAIN, I wouldn't be surprised to see him sit several more games. We don't need to risk a LaMelo type of situation here. Not with twenty or so games left and the play-in not even guaranteed.

These two losses to other teams at the cusp of the playoffs/playins really put us deep into the hole but we still have the draft to look forward to. With the Knicks playing well we are almost certain to have two picks.

At this point, here's what I want for the final 20 games of the season:

I want Dame to end with enough games played to qualify for stat leaderboards. He needs to finish with 58 games played, so just 9 more. Maybe enough to get on the All-NBA 3rd team as well.

I want to see lots of Shaedon Sharpe and Jabari Walker. Let the rooks loose! Maybe Sharpe can end up on the All-Rookie 2nd team.

I want to see different starting lineups at the 2/3 positions to see how Reddish, Thybulle, Little, and Sharpe respond. This is valuable time to see if anyone stands out.

Most importantly, I want to see no injuries!

I think if Dame has the games played he's almost certainly a lock for second team. I think Luka is the only lock for first team guard. The rest is a tossup between Dame/Ja/DMitch/Shai. Ja and DMitch have the better records, but Dame is better statistically and without nearly as much talent around him. Shai and Dame are so close in scoring, but Dame has the edge on him for playmaking. But I think if OKC scoots ahead of us (which we want for the draft imo. I'd love nothing more than OKC to make the playoffs because I don't want them getting more top-end talent) he might get the nod over Dame just because of how unexpected OKC's season has gone.

But I'd expect Dame to get second team if he plays through the middle/end of march.

It seems like this team should be better than it is. Not good. But average. I want to join the Fire Chauncey bandwagon. But I can't yet since the roster construction is so poor.

I'm with you 100%. I kept thinking I would see a spark...something that shows why he got the job...at this point you would need to be delusional to think CB is a fit. I want the lottery pick, but I also want to COMPETE next season. Billups can drive the tank for now, but if we want to run at it next season it should be Udoka or a prodigy... not a borderline hall of fame rec center legend

Cam and Thybulle have been pretty decent. I think either could start at SG, allowing us to package Simons, our LP and the NYK pick for something. What that something is, who knows.

Would love to try for Lauri. Simons, #8, #23 for Lauri works. Maybe we add a future FRP.

Resign Thybulle and Cam.

G - Damian Lillard / MLE or BAE
G - Matisse Thybulle / Shadeon Sharpe
F - Jerami Grant / Cam Reddish
F - Lauri Markkanen / Nas Little
C - Jusuf Nurkic / Drew Eubanks

After the trades, the roster construction looks poor, but the roster we had at the start of the season looked better than anything we've had since Aldridge left - much better than where we ended up, especially with so many other teams looking mediocre this year. This should have been POR's chance to get a top 3 seed - something Stotts managed twice with lesser talent and tougher competition.

I'm not only on the Fire Chauncey bandwagon, I'm driving the Never Should Have Hired Chauncey in the First Place bandwagon.
