I think I like Knox more than Reddish.

Cam’s set the bar pretty low.

Also, I don’t like this half time score.

I'd be really heartbroken if we traded Shaedon. His ability to get to the cup is pretty impressive for being so young, with a handle that still needs tightened, and the lack of playing time over the last year and a half overall.

I’ll be honest, if I were to put money on it, I bet the Blazers trade Dame before they move Shaedon. I think they would move Shae if the right deal comes along, but isn’t don’t think that deal will materialize and moving Dame will be the more realistic for what deal the Blazer will be able to make.

I don't think they're going to trade Dame. I don't think he's going to ask out.

I think we'll all agree they'll probably try to package Ant +2-8 + future picks for something, anything. I think option one is trying to get Embiid if stuff goes south, especially with the rumors about Harden, which would obviously include Shaedon. Then move to the Ant option. And if ant+ doesn't get anything I think they'll try to ship Ant out by himself for a solid c, resign Grant, swap Nurk for some bench help, use the MLE for someone actually worth it this year (for the record last year I both wanted Kyle Anderson or Bruce Brown over GPII), and see what happens.

They might try the lottery pick on Turner too, I don't know. But I really, really don't think they're going to even explore trading Dame and I don't think he's going to ask out.

That was a rough game because of how few people we had available, but love seeing Shaedon get a career high. Rough shooting, but expected as the focus point while also playing 42+ minutes and being the main focus of running the offense while trying to guard the top players too.

7 assists and 7 boards also. However he is the only show in town right now with this bunch of misfits but with solid minutes he has gotten 30, 12, 29, 24 and 24

Shaedon really showing quite a bit as the season closes, you can tell when he is out there with Dame and Simons he doesn't want to step on toes but when both sit he just goes out there and shows how dominant he can be.

Buzzed and lazy. Have the Blazers had any luck with a player out of Duke? Gary Trent Jr. I guess. But Nolan Smith and Cam Reddish really make me think that we got 2 great players out of Weber State and Lehigh. Maybe picking the top prospect out of Duke, Kansas, etc. is just lazy. Especially when arguably 3-4 of the top 5 players in the league are foreign, Kawhi Leonard came out of SDSU, etc.

I have been on the Sharpe bandwagon since before the draft. And he is proving why I was. Freak athleticism that, if he can put it together, could be legendary. It's why I liked Elliot Williams, GB3, etc., even though they had flaws. You can teach an athletic person basketball but you can't teach a basketball-savvy player athleticism.

But, if Sharpe helped land Portland a player like Brown, Siakam, or Butler, you have to do it. I'm on the side where even if management (which will likely in this scenario) screws everything up, at least try to make a run. (Or trade Dame, which I am not a fan of because I don't see the Blazers getting an equivalent player within the next decade based on past experiences. We aren't the Lakers.)

Wasn't around for Bowie, but not trading rookie contract CJ + 1-3 1sts for Butler when Chicago was shopping Butler was way worse than Oden over Durant, Trent for Powell for giving LAC cap space for Keon, etc.

Yeah. I think the Blazers are half "we need to rebuild", half "a rebuild would cost us money". So, overpaying Dame is fine as long as he sells tickets. But that leaves us with a flawed roster. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if Cronin does some Olshey narrative that "he wanted to field a competent roster, but other teams were asking more than he was willing to pay" narrative. In some way, I can't fault Olshey or Cronin. If I could tell my boss "Yeah, I was going to do my job. But that was a lot of work. And if I was wrong, it'd make things worse for me and the franchise. So, I just want to collect a paycheck." and get away with it, I totally would. I have morals but I'm not an idiot.

I think that this will be the narrative. I don't have confidence in some Cronin neutered management combined with a mostly indifferent ownership getting anything done.

At this point, the Blazers almost can’t trade Sharpe. At this age, with the skills he’s shown (albeit on a very bad team) there is zero chance the Blazers get equivalency on his rookie contract. Young, promising players that put up numbers on early rookie contracts are the most valuable contracts in the league.
I can’t think of a single realistic person I’d trade him for.

I would be upset if we trade Sharpe quite a bit, even if we get back a all-star Sharpe has the potential to be the best player on the team hands down in 4-5 years. **** that timeline might be accelerated if we have a situation where Dame is traded.

You can find flaws with Simons game but Sharpe has tons of talent and skill and it's amazing he is this good at 19. Dame was nowhere near the player Sharpe was at 19 and it's not even close.

I have a feeling he might be the player ownership wants to hold onto the most on the team not named Dame. I am so damn glad they didn't give up the 7th pick to get OG since it likely would have cost more and we would be seeing this potential superstar on the Raptors for the next decade.

If Dame stays and there is the opportunity, I agree you have to make that move for Brown / Pascal / Butler. But I will say that I dont think any are as good as the Butler we could have gotten back when that CJ deal was on the table, and that is infuriating.

My hope is we land any pick outside #1 and can use that and future draft capital while keeping Sharpe. Not sure there is a player after Wemby that I would take over SS. Actually, not sure there is a player after Wemby that I would take over Shapre, Jalen Williams, Paolo and potentially even Kessler (And a healthy Chet is for sure higher on my list than anyone in the draft after Wemby).

I think 2022 was just stacked in comparison to 2023.

But ideally we get a high pick and can flip it w/ Simons and potentially Nurkic for Pascal, Brown or Butler. Think Pascal would be most likely as the other 2 teams are more win-now but they just made a win now trade w/ Poeltl so who knows.

Still big on Lauri, and his contract is small enough that we could use Nurkic as the salary filler and save Simons for a trade elsewhere. If we could turn Simons, Nurkic and our pick into Lauri and WCJ that would transform this team IMO.

Has Little improved his handle at all since HS? I swear he dribbles like Stanley from The Office.
