I am all in on Scoot. But we can't add 3 rookies, can we? There has to be some play made. I have been vocal I wanted DDR (but not for #3). But Kuzma is being shopped and fills a massive talent gap in our roster...
I mean, I'm happy we aren't selling picks. But we don't seem to have any direction.

Kuzma is a free agent.

And he wants more than the MLE and Washington is rumored to be looking to sign and trade him. Not sure how much sense that really makes. I wouldn't trade Simons for him. Maybe you trade Nurkic to get out of his contract, but then you have to use your MLE on a center to replace him. I don't see anything that works. Like Brooks, I know he's a polarizing player. But he would fill a role this team needs.

Simons to Orlando-->Gary Harris to Wizards; Bol Bol to Cleveland-->Kuzma S&T to Cleveland-->Jarrett Allen to Portland
Nurkic for something else. That way the Blazers don't get hard-capped by taking on Kuzma (
who is a bit of a chucker). If Cleveland doesn't want Bol, send him to Portland. If a 2nd or even a 1st is needed to grease the wheels of this trade, it should come from Orlando
if Dame is traded, still trade Simons but route Harris somewhere else for a 2nd or two

Portland isn't putting Simons into the box and coming out with Jarrett allen lol.....

I would assume the Dame market will be scarce for all the teams are trying to understand all
the nuances with the new CBA.
It'd be interesting if the Clippers or GSW pulled a Phoenix Suns and just blew through the
second tax apron, to take on Dame

So boring, we only just have two of the most "ahead of their age" 19 year olds developing under the coaching of one of the greatest team leaders and point guards of his (Billup's) generation while playing with one of the greatest team leaders and point guards of his (Dame's) generation, in a system that has consistently turned out quality guards.
It's like you take the greatest guard talent possible and give them a perfect situation to be mentored and trained up. These two are going to be wrecking defenses and circled on every teams scouting report for the next decade and a half.
So boooring, yawn.

I didn't just pull that out of my colon. There have been fairly credible reports/rumors that Orlando has interest in home-town Simons. Enough so they might even add a pick to the outgoing. I don't know how much attention you've paid over the years, but a lot of times what goes into the grinder of a 3 and 4 team trade often spit out better value at the back end than the front end
Cleveland wasn't trading Allen for Simons, they were trading him for Kuzma, maybe Bol, and maybe a pick

They still need backcourt shooting.
A lot of us have said that Ant would be the perfect sixth man. If we tried to make that happen here, it's a whole thing. But maybe if he gets traded to Orlando and they wanna start Suggs and Black or Fultz, Ant gives them an immediate spark off the bench.

I don't think you can go with Scoot and Simons so one has to go. If they go rebuild, I would think Simons is the odd man out.

Depends on Dame. We aren't dealing Scoot to keep Ant

If you can get Brooks for the MLE, just do that. Reasonable if. But the Blazers aren't really in a position to be trading assets for Kuzma tier players. I only brought Kuzma up because he is being shopped, as the Wizards go full rebuild mode.

I don't see any reason to spend any MLE on Brooks when Blazers have Bird Rights for Thybulle. Matisse is a better defender than Brooks, does not have baggage, and is not the uninhibited chucker that Brooks is
re-sign Thybulle and save the MLE for somebody else

Ducks fan, so I'm clearly biased. But if you can get Thybulle for less than Brooks, you do that. If you can get Brooks for less than Kuzma, you do that.
But even if the Blazers bring back Thybulle, they are probably going to still be reliant on Winslow and Little for wing/forward minutes. And that's scary from a health standpoint.
Several people complaining about the center position when we clearly need a power forward and a wing.
