Houston wants to move on from him and who can blame them.
Articles report the Rockets are actively shopping him and would part with draft capital.
This could be an opportunity for a rebuilding franchise.
What do we think?

Terrible optics.

How does GM defend a trade for a guy that just broke his girlfriend’s neck?

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Not a position of need and... come on it does not matter the guy is going to jail. Even if he does somehow evade justice his criminal behavior is not welcome in Portland.

Could we not waive him?

I wouldn't want anything to do with him based on his behaviour.

Would love to dump Nurkic's contract for him and just waive him - or getting HOU involved in a Dame trade to dump salary via waiving him.

But even if he doesnt suit up and is just a way to cut salary - the optics will be rough.

We spent two decades distancing ourselves from the jailblazers days. No way would I let this dude anywhere near Scoot and Sharpe.

The only way this happens is if the Blazers want to dump Nurk's contract and they waive Porter Jr immediately, before the ink dries.

Or if Portland makes it 100% clear he will never play a game for us EVER! than you could just say it was a business move to do x y and z. But no no no

Not condoning this horrible act in any way, but to be fair it looks like he did not break his Girlfriends neck as was first reported. And no way in hell would I do any deal with him.

It's a great way to start creating a team that can resemble the glory days of a "Jail-Blazers" squad

1) Trade for Porter Jr.
2) Sign Myles Bridges as a free agent the next summer
3) Flip Scoot for Ja Morant

And we are set for greatness a bunch of great newspaper headlines.

Absolutely not. Didn’t read a single word of anyone’s post here, just the name in the title, and no.

No.

Hell no.
