Sharpe is 1-9, 0-4 from 3 and has 2 points in just 21 minutes, compared to Grant and Camara getting 30 minutes. I see Brogdan is back. What's up with Sharpe tonight?

Sharp is frustrating because he has so much damn talent but seems to be getting worse each game and has a real knack for disappearing while on the court. His shooting has been off for a few games now.

Oof… he struggled last night. Missed a lot of open 3’s, had some careless turnovers… I meant to wear my Sharpe jersey to the game and accidentally grabbed my Dame one instead, and by halftime I was cool with the mix up
Joking aside, I think we forget how young he is at times, and how much a shooting slump can affect the psyche of a younger player.
But I have confidence he’ll snap out of it eventually.
Edit: I should also add that we are seeing NBA teams adjust their defensive schemes to stop Sharpe, which was triggered by his hot start. Especially with Simons, Scoot and up until last night,Brogdon, all out, there aren’t any other perimeter threats to plan really plan against.
Defenses right now are daring Sharpe to shoot and have their off ball defenders shadowing the paint when he has the ball on the perimeter, ready to collapse the lane. Has anyone else noticed how when Sharpe swings the ball, the guy he throws to is almost always pretty open? If they could actually hit an open 3, Sharpe would have decent assist numbers

This Blazers team has issues at pretty much every level: talent, injuries, coaching, player fit, experience...the list goes on, and there are reasons why the team is 3-11.
I'll say it again. Chauncey sucks. He's shown me nothing in the way of implementing an effective system for the players to grow into. All I see defensively is a bunch of players swiping at the ball, who are slow to rotate with what looks like a lack of communication in a system that sells out on ball pressure at the point of attack. Potentially the worst system you could implement for young players.
Offensively I don't really see anything structured or consistent in place. Judging by the results, there seems to be a 2-3 pass minimum to try and find a defensive weakness or favorable matchup, and then go 1 on 1 philosophy. The team also appears to have the green light to hoist 3s, which given the state of the NBA and the situation of the team, I'm okay with.
Sharpe is coasting on athleticism. That was working for a while but now teams have him a bit more scouted, and they know he's going to try and get to the rim and hang without a purpose. Experience will help, but he's meeting his match. Clearly, he needs to be more decisive and intentional with what his plan is with the basketball.
Good for ping pong balls. It's early yet, but did my first check in on the draft class this year...so far not looking so good.
