Bol Bol

Could Bol Bol (7’3 24 year old) find success with the Blazers playing the 3/4? Is he better than what the Blazers have now playing those positions (except for Grant)? With Bol he adds much needed size on the frontline and versatile with his size and skill set.

Shaq believes in him, but says he is lazy. Shaq new him growing up as a kid since he was friends with his sons - if Shaq thinks you're lazy and several teams havent given you the chance...i believe it.

I'd much rather use one of our 2nd round picks on N'Faly Dante if his additional year of eligibility is declined.

No No.

Bol is a classic case of a guy with all the god given traits but little work ethic and even less feel for the game. He is like a homeless mans Anthony Randolph in that way. He stinks and I wouldnt take him over Kris Murray who I think isnt a NBA rotation player but at least has a motor.

Bol Bol is another of those guys who think playing in the NBA is his right not a privilege

I think Bol has made significant improvements in the last year.
I actually like Bol if we traded one of the 2nd rounders for him.

Bol isn't quick enough to guard SFs. Many PFs would give him issues on the perimeter.

There are better options for Portland than Bol Bol

I will go against the grain and say yes, but only if we jettison the rest of our vets.

Bol Bol is never going to amount much than instant offense off the bench.

He lacks defensive instincts to be in the right place for defensive rotations and he lacks the bulk needed to be a good interior defender. If only he had 20lbs on him he could be an effective defender but he's much too slim to do much damage.

Bol Bol would be a low risk high reward type player, I believe you can sign for relatively cheap and I strongly believe he is better option than Murray or Camara.

It doesn't see like he's ever gotten a consistent role or minutes. But I would be willing to take him for cheap if we gave him one because he's obviously talented with unicorn traits.

Yeah I like that 7’3 and plays with versatility.

He got plenty of minutes in ORL. He's absolutely awful but he would pull off ridiculous circus shots that had some overly optimistic ORL people convinced he was the next Durant-in-training.His MO is to grab a rebound, dribble it chest-high (his chest is really high), crash into a crowd and toss up a prayer...they went in for a while and it was kind of fun(ny) as the bench high-fived and cheered. You could look at the numbers and apparent efficiency (at least early on) and say "Wow". But if you watched all the game, it was a terrible sideshow. He was said to have an entitled attitude in college and, allegedly, early NBA career - but, to be fair, there were no reports of that in ORL.

No!

How did he turn out so lazy when his father killed a lion with a spear :D

Bol would be better than Camara, Murray or Reath and just as cheap. Again nothing to lose and everything to gain if they can get Bol to play to his potential. If it doesn’t work then they move on from Bol.

Camara as a rookie was much better than Bol ever was, and I would bet my savings ever will be.

Bol is an idea, not a reality.

Reminds me of how Tskitisvili kept getting chances because tall.

Yep, Kobe hated how unmotivated Shaq could be at times, him calling that guy lazy is probably huge. Shaq was a great player but he could have been the goat with more motivation potentially. Kobe used to talk about how Shaq would sit and polish off like 4-5 McDonald's burgers in one sitting back in his prime days.

Weak sauce. Raymound Fatton would finish 8. With fries. And his prime was prime rib.

He is a classic case of rich kid who never had to work hard for anything. Bare minimum effort.

Cant blame him. Maybe hooping isn’t his passion, but doing the bare minimum got him here. He’s a millionaire. Maybe he doesn’t see the value of trying harder and getting more money.
