Knicks and Blazers

Post#1 » by Blazers20 » Tue Jun 18, 2024 7:58 pm

Do the Blazers have something the Knicks would want in exchange for the 24th and 25th picks? Right now I see the Knicks depth charts as:

1: Brunson
2: Hart-DiVincenzo
3: OG
4: Randle
5: Hartenstein-Robinson

I dont think it would be popular here but I would move 7 + 40 for 24 + 25, the MIL 25 FRP and one of the highly protected FRPs (DET or WAS).

Use 25 + 34 to move up slightly (CLE at 20?). End up w/

14 - Zach Edey C
20 - Tyler Smith F
24 - Kyshawn George GF

+ 2 more future FRP.

NYK would have to see a win-now guy avaliable at 7 FWIW - I could see them making a move like this for Castle personally. Such a Thibs guy. Could also see Dalton as an option.

I simply rank some guys (Smith, George, Furphy) very similarly to others mocked higher. I also believe the bottom may fall out for MIL and that the pick they would convey in 2025 has a high chance of being in the 10-15 range - and I rank a pick in that range in the 2025 draft higher than our 7.

But, ya, its nonsense in reality.

I actually don't think the Knicks would do this. It's essentially #24, 25 + MIL 2025 FRP, back end FRP for #7.

In some years I could see them doing it, and I agree there are a couple of guys like Castle and Carter that would be perfect under Thibs...but not this year.

I also don't think the Blazers would do this.

Is there a player on the Blazers roster that could help New York go deeper into the playoffs that they may want to part with both 24th and 25th picks? As an example Brogdon-Williams for 24th-25th-Salary Filler.

How about sending Brogdon-Williams-Camara for 24-25-Salary Filler.

1: Brunson-Brogdon
2: Hart-DiVincenzo
3: OG-Bogdanovic
4: Randle-Precious-Camara
5: Hartenstein-Robinson-Williams

No chance the Blazers move Camara as salary filler in a deal yet.

I actually think, after his years playoffs, Matisse could be a sneaky valuable trade piece, especially for a vet team. He's on a massive value contract for a + defender who can hit some corner 3's. Dallas would be a team to watch here as they wanted him last summer.

I think Grant for 13 works, then do 14 for 24-25. Knicks take Da Silva as a win now guy.

7 BPA Knect?
13 Edey
24 Dunn
25 Djuric (really high on him).

I think there is a chance Dunn is available in the 2nd round, and I really expect Djuric to bed capable. I wouldn’t make these trades just to get guys we may be able to get anyway.

I just think if you can get players you want, you take them where you can get them. I fully expect Dunn to be taken by one of NY picks if not sooner. Djuric could be there at 34 or 40 but I also wouldn't be surprised if Denver took him. If we want Dunn, I would love to package both our seconds together to get him with a late first, but I think it's gonna take the lakers pick to get him for sure, which would require Grant, which I'm ok with if they include that 2031 first.

My issue is using the 14 to get players that we may be able to get in the 2nd round. We may be able to get the guys you want AND a lottery level player. This just feels like throwing away the 14th pick to me.

My preference would be to use the 34 and 40 to get another first. I guess we'll see where these guys go tomorrow, i have a feeling Dunn doesn't get by NY and Djuric goes late in the first as well.

Go ahead and ignore any Knicks trades. They just traded every first they in the 2020's and a little into 2030's for Bridges.

Sounds like they still plan on resigning OG too (but letting Hartenstein go).

Regardless, that team will be entertaining as hell. They were one of the few teams I actually turned on during this playoffs. Can't wait for it!

What do you know? Load up on draft picks, make smart picks, go all in on smart trades. Knicks are loaded.

Makes me think Grant will have more value with Bridges off the table.

Brunson/Mcbride
Bridges/Hart
OG/Devincenzo
Randle/??
