Need some advice

I live in the Salem area. Just found out that Xfinity wants to charge me $245 a month for package that includes Root Sports and the Big 10 network. This is about $65 more a month than I'm paying now. Can anyone recommend another service that has local channels and Root Sports and Big 10 Network. Have been on a couple of sites and is kinda confusing to see what package has what channels. Thanks for any help. :D

Get an antenna and a DVR. On a typical football weekend that will get you the ducks game (most of their games are broadcast for free OTA), a couple of top ten national matchups, and several NFL games. All the blazer games are available on YouTube as 10-minute highlights (usually too much of the current team). How much sports can a guy watch? Even if I was rich, I would still feel stupid paying $200 for cable TV.

Just go to Sling TV.

Why do you want Root Sports?
If it's only for Blazer games - you can use a VPN to route the feed through an area where the games are not blacked out. Then you can just stream the games directly from NBA Broadband.

there's countless sites you can use for free. I haven't paid for cable since 2015 and I watch every game.

Thanks for the advice. Guess I'm not as tech savvy as I thought I was. :D

I'm so glad I did not opt for the outrageous package that Xfinity wanted to charge me, now that Root sports is out of the picture. Thanks again for the advice guys. :D
